I, for one, am glad to finally see a dermatologist talk about the effects of diet on acne. The ones that I've seen for treatment insist there is absolutely no link between the two, which truly frustrates me. How could it possibly be that what one puts in her body for nutrition doesn't influence it?? Anyways, binging your videos. Thanks for the info! :)

Hello Dr Sam! Thanks for yet another informative video. I was wondering if you could make a video on how to deal with post-acne pigmentation and mild scarring and especially on what products to use to combat these issues faster. I'd appreciate it a lot.

Such sensible advice Dr Sam, thank you. It's refreshing to see this information be delivered in a way that isn't advocating completely eliminate food groups 100% forever, and instead just being more thoughtful with choices. You approached this delicate topic very well!

Today is almost a month when i ve been doing brutal diet- no sugar no coffee no alcohol no dairy no gluten no eggs :D. I made food intolerance test and i am sensitive to gluten- level1, dairy, yeast- level2, eggs- level3. have acne on my face, back and chest about 15 years now and what can i say? My back acne is just a little bit better but thats it. My face looks worse- i have these hormonal zits so painful so deep. I dont feel better actually, have no energy to go to the gym. I have drunk a lot of green tea, breakfast- buckweat or quina with avocado, lunch - wild or brown rice with veggies, dinner- chicken or salmon with veggies and rice. Looks absolutely perfect diet but i dont feel like that! Today i had first coffee with oatmilk and i give up on this diet! I really can notice my acne worsen when i have too much sugar like candies or cookies and dairy. And now i just can say one thing after this experiment - the key is - everything in moderation:))))

Brilliant, Dr Sam! I truly believe no dermatologists' investigation is complete without a discussion on nutrition - I started taking great care to eat a low-GI diet and it's made enormous difference to my skin. One piece of feedback: the product recommendations in your description box seem to have been cut off. Might you also have a fish oil product to recommend, or are you partial to flaxseed oil alone?

Great advice and I love your videos, but I do have to disagree about the nuts. If you have acne prone skin, eat nuts VERY sparingly. They are very high in pro-inflammatory omega-6s and the amount of omega-3s you will need to eat to balance it out is much, much higher than most of us ingest.

Eliminating dairy products completely eliminated my acne problem. I was in my thirties and had a lot of cystic acne. My dermatologist told me about a study on this subject. I also did it for ethical reasons and was rewarded it seems. :-)

thank you for the honest yet groundbreaking advise! I know food makes a difference in appearance but I needed to be reminded. I'm not sure if I can cut out dairy completely, but your suggestion of cutting back is brilliant. xo

And other thing Dr Sam, Have you heard about Maca (Lepidium Meyenii)?. my gynecologist gave it to me to regulate an hormonal problem. It took 3 months because it is phitotherapy, and I could regulate my hormonal cycles and levels and my hormonal acne in my chin has disapeared. Have you heard about it?, thank you, I love your videos.

Could you please make a video about prescription retinoids. I am interested in your thoughts on %, when to use them in the routine, what to do about irritation, how much irritation is too much etc. etc. THANK YOU!!!

Thank you, another good video! I was curious to see what you would say about dairy (with me enjoying my French yogurt so much). I love a green smoothie too and would love to hear some of your recipes!

Love your videos! I don't have acne, I instead have dry skin that is aging (I'm 29) . Is there a pill supplement that you would suggest? Would an omega 3 pill supplement be helpful? If so do you have a brand you'd suggest? Thanks!

Hi Dr Sam. I, ve recently incorporated serum on my skin care routine. I, m using hylamide sub q antiaging for the face and hylamide sub q eyes for the undereye area. Its use is recommended for morning and night, so I apply both of hylamides before my moisturizer in the morning and before I go to sleep at night. Since there are specific products for day and night, it is correct to use one single product for am and pm? Thank you and congrats for your channel. So good to have a skin professional in youtube!!
