1 Minute meditation - Grounding. One minute grounding meditation for beginners. A short how-to guide for beginners interested in learning grounding meditation.
Meditation is an ancient form of mindfulness to retain control of your thoughts. Grounding is very important in meditation.
There are different benefits of grounding:
- it helps you live in the moment
- it helps you with anxiety
- it helps you feel balanced
- it also helps you feel connected
- and helps you feel secure and safe.
- but most of all, it helps you focus on the present.
How to start grounding meditation? A simple guide to start meditation for beginners. This is a one-minute grounding meditation technique to reduce anxiety and keep you grounded in the moment.
All you need to meditate is a comfortable place to sit in. Find a quiet place that you are comfortable with.
One minute meditation for beginners:
Grounding
1. Find a spot to relax either seated or standing.
2. Close your eyes and take a deep breath.
3. Feel your body as you inhale.
4. Take a long breath out. Notice your body as you exhale.
5. Follow your breath in and out.
6. Rest your mind on your belly...your chest..or nostrils.
7. Just be aware as you breathe in and aware as you breathe out.
This breathing practice, even for just a minute, helps you pause and ground you in the moment.
Start this initially for one minute of grounding meditation. As you begin this practice you will be more and more comfortable and familiar. You can then take it to more than a minute. If your mind wanders, just continue to focus on your breath.
Meditating for even 20 minutes everyday has helped millions of people cut down on stress and live healthier lives.
