I appreciate how, despite his experience with the F-14, and all the time he'd spent flying it, Mav still didn't know all the things about it. It would make sense for him to not know how to turn the radar or radio on, since it was never his responsibility. Just reminds us that Mav isn't perfect, even though he is really good at what he does. Makes him feel more relatable in that respect.

A lot of people knock the Tomcat for its age, but it was a technology marvel in its hay day. Still a very tough and unique aircraft. It was great they featured here in the film.
