I watched your video on Youtube and am still having trouble. We have two nics. The first one works fine. The second needs to be configured with a static IP Address. I have very little linux experience and am trying to do this. I need to be sure I am configuring the correct nic, which I know because of the mac address. When I type vi /etc/sysc (as you did in your video), my screen turns black with endless blue dashes on the left. I think it is recording the session. I can not stop the recording and have to pull the plug to restart. Why is this happening? Thanks

Hi. I made the changes in configuration file and restarted my network.but when I type ifconfig or ip a commands I can see the old IP entries also present and the machine pingable with both IPs, is there any solution or any changes I have to make further to discard the connectivity to the old IP to machine. Please respond
