In this video, CBT Nuggets trainer Keith Barker covers how to configure and verify IP address information on a Linux box.

The best way to learn something like IP configuration is with a lab environment. That's why in this video, Keith walks you through setting up a virtual network, a virtual Linux machine on that network, and how to configure IPv4 on it.

Follow along as Keith configures four key components for the Linux machine in his practice lab environment: IP address, mask, default gateway and also the DNS server that the device will use to do name resolution. You'll learn the Linux commands you can use to perform lookups, check your settings and make updates to the IP configuration.

Nice video. I'm very new to all of this. Can i get a a 2nd gateway ip without a new isp? I'm working on a project that only allows 8 devices on the same gateway. Those devices are designate to only 8 ports. Is there another option?

I am very disappointed. Showing how to configure IPv4 via GUI in linux is something I did not expect. The reason why I clicked on this video was that I want to see IPv4 configuration via CLI.
