I’ve never seen anybody else before be able to explain these concepts in a clear and easy way. You are the best man!

I have never written a comment on youtube in my 24 years. This level of ability to simplify a complex topic is mind-blowing. Hats off

Dude, thank you for spicing your lessons up by being upbeat and adding funny clips. Focusing is an absolute nightmare for me unless its interesting.

It took me MONTHS to finally understand the joke behind toilets having an "IP-Address".

I've been in IT for over 20 years and am very comfortable with networking. I still love these types of videos because I always pick up something that I may not have known or was taught incorrectly. Thanks for all your hard work on these videos looking forward to EP2 !

I’ve hated networking my whole adult life (since like 10 when I got into programming and computers). This laid it out so simply. Much better then my college classes on it. Finally grasp some of these concepts I’ve avoided. Thank you.

The way you are explaining, I bet there is nobody else who could explain the concepts this well. Hats of to you chuck. You will be my networking teacher 💯💯

Dude, I'm in Cybersecurity bootcamp right now and have been trying to wrap my head around networking for weeks and this right here was exactly what I needed. The best presentation I've heard. It's actually making sense.

7:20 another way to think about it is 255 is 'full' and 0 is 'empty', you are specifying the amount of 'free space' in that 'slot' (octet). As we've specified 255 for the first 3 octets, there is no 'space' for that number to change as we've said that those 'slots' are full and it will be locked to those digits. Whereas for the final octet that we've specified as zero, we're saying that its 'empty' and the DHCP server can go ham and allocate what ever it likes in the 1-254 range. Obviously thats highly simplified and in reality its more nuanced than that, but it made it click in my head.

I've been in networking now for 2 years, and the way you just explained everything far exceeds anything my instructors or my supervisor has explained it, I actually understand it now

Two things:
1. Thank you much for this video. This is TOP quality content. This was an amazing refresher on subnetting. I'm sitting up at 5am with my baby (sleep-schedule-confused one-month-old, the best!) and despite my sleep-deprived new-mom brain, I was still able to understand this perfectly. Amazing job Chuck!
2. The advertisement at the end is quite the surprise! I got a good network CHUCKle out of that (see what I did there?)

Haha thanks Chuck!

This is great. Been working with IT 5+ years and this helped me grasp things I should’ve known by now. Love this ‘fill in the knowledge’ gap kinda thing you provide in an fun to watch manner!

I've come to the conclusion that you are so good at explaining things, because you are a good father. Good parents learn how to communicate and explain ideas, regardless of the complexity, in an easy-to-understand way. Good on you sir!

Chuck, can I just say what a blessing you are sir. Thank you so much for making these videos. I've been tasked to start working on Network Segmentation Testing and these videos are really helping fill in the spaces in my knowledge gaps. Cheers brother.

Your videos are helping me tremendously. I'm in school for cyber security and so much of it comes full circle for me when I go to school but then watch your videos after. Thank you Chuck

I just found your channel, Chuck. The amount of information related to learning IT, especially at my age, seems daunting sometimes. Through watching just a couple of your videos I've started to gain confidence rather than question my faith and sanity. Thanks for all you invest in teaching. 🙏

SysAdmin/Network Admin here - Great job! Love your videos! I am going to show this to my techs. You would be surprised how many IT Professionals do not understand networking.

You're about two coffee's away from a line of coke. I normally can't watch hyped up youtubers, but there's something about your geeky enthusiasm that's contagious. I can see you put your soul into making these videos, and it's inspiring. You've opened up a rabbit hole for me, because of your style of teaching. Nice work :-)
