there's an army helmet with +10 armour near the start of the game, when you cross the bridge out of Sanctuary follow the river on the right a little bit and you'll see an army pod :)

Here's a tip: At the beginning of the game right before you leave Vault 111, you may see a unique weapon in a case on the wall. You cannot get this because you need to be a master at lockpicking (or something like that). All you need to do is when you get Dogmeat go back there and be near the Cryolater. Then talk to Dogmeat and get to the part where it says, "fetch" (Do not choose any of the other options, they do not work.) He will then have glitched the Cryolater out of the case. You may notice that there is no ammo in the gun though. That is because Dogmeat is holding it, so just look through his inventory. Hoped this helped!

Local leader lets you setup supply lines that lets you share your junk between all your settlements.

All crafting benches in one area shares it's inventory (and between the settlements who shares a supply line). That includes cooking stations and chemistry stations.

This means you can store all your aid items (chems and food) in the same way you store your junk. And you can use those items to make food or chems without having them in your characters inventory.

how about the part where you hide in a cafe to not die from the deathclaw? that was kinda important

A good tips. NAME the weapons and armor you use with a 1 at the start of the name. For example "1 .50 Sniper Rifle". Those items will then always be at the top of your inventory list.

It saves an incredible amount of time when you move your loot from your inventory to a storage chest.

I love naming my fave guns and weapons. I have Savage Love, Ice Ice Baby, Ratatatat, Two Bad and Yuck Fou, so far, lol.

Tip for new players: Put at least 6 points in Charisma. The local leader perk is flat out required to have any meaningful settlement building, which is a herculean part of any major crafting, weapons/armor upgrades you can acquire throughout the game.

id recommend using the pipe weapons early and save the ammo of the better guns until you level up to where the pipe weapons are less useful. bad guys are easy early lvls

There's a perk called Local Leader under Charisma, rank 1 will allow you to set up a supply line between settlements. So both settlements you've connected will have the same inventory

There is a fatboy (no ammo) in the robot scrap yard (south-west-ish of Sanctuary).  Its somewhat hidden, mixed in with the junked cars.  Check around the (spoiler-kinda) inactive sentry bot.  Less awesome, there is also a flamer fuel cell on the ground by the large post. And incase you decide to leave the area, be sure to grab to holotape to control the bot.

Workshops do share inventory if you assign one of your settlers to that position when you're building your community!

another tip is to build up settlements. you can level up pretty quick early game with it and even in later game it is still a decent way to get a bit more XP.
also when you are looting everything prioritize aluminium, screws, oil, and adhesive. these are heavily used in everything and will be needed for defending settlements and modding of items.
also even in later game grab every thing. you can sell it to traders and make a good bit of cash that you can use to buy stuff you will eventually need.

3:39 Adding on to what he says, "but you can designate a settler in one of your two settlements to make a supply line from red rocket to sanctuary. Walk up to any new settler, press and hold v (on computer *sorry idk the buttons for the consoles*) and it will bring up the workshop build section. Select the settler and you should have the option to set up a supply line. Voila, shared workbenches.

here's a workshop tip, put everything that the workbenches use to make things inside them, such as junk, mods, aids or chems that or food, meat and other unique foods to help make things or upgrade things, I found it makes it much easier to play and sort out, also mods should defiantly go to workbench because mods take up your carrying points.

Don't underestimate bloodbugs (mutant mosquitoes), they will kill you very easily. They also are very quick and will catch up with you even after sprinting away, so just avoid them if you can at early levels. Also remember that if you have a weapon you don't like or find difficult to use, remember to modify it! Doing this can drastically alter the weapon's handling, behavior, and abilities.
