Great. I learnt this procedure under the watch of a senior physician. Its really relieving and many patients thereof become very stable. Thank you

I’m real glad I found this video as it has confirmed the issues I have been experiencing with the doctors who I believe have been draining my knee incorrectly.

On all of my knee aspirations the doctors have never used an anaesthetic prior to the aspiration but have told me that the anaesthetic was placed inside the same syringe as the one used for draining.

I asked how this worked and I was informed that the the anaesthetic will freeze the tissue instantly, therefore as the needle goes in it will stop the pain as it moves through the skin.

Baring in mind here that this video shows two needles, one to freeze the knee and the second to drain the knee which should not cause too much discomfort given that the first needle, the anaesthetic has done its job.

Once again my question here is how on earth can one syringe do two jobs given that the second needle will be larger and will be the one which causes the pain. How can the draining needle freeze the skin on its way in if there was not an anaesthetic prior to the drainage. The doctors todo me the draining needle aged the anaesthetic Nessie so both jobs which to make is obscured.

Great USS skills and demonstration of the anatomy. But the procedure can't be sterile without a sheath over the USS probe.

Got my first one last in my right knee in December, had a patella tendinitis twice in my left knee just recently, went away and came back, now, just last night my right knee started to hurt, woke up this morning to another effusion in my right knee again..

IT SUCKS

Great demonstration. However why not leave the needle in and change out the syringe for the steroid/whatever is being injected instead of having to insert a new needle?
