I had this done, I got diagnosed with Lymes disease a few years back and had to get my knee drained. The pain was almost unbearable. I walked a whole new different person and my knee didn’t dislocate after that :)

For those wondering if it might cause a lot of pain or not, then straight answer is no
We use anesthesia to numb the knee muscles then go for the knee joint through needle. You would feel nothing/very less sensasition if you just look away or even talk during the process. We usually do this to younger patients

From my late twenties to my mid forties I’d had both my knees drained multiple times! Also had one elbow drained. Just recently I had to get a shot in the Pes Anserine!! That was delightful! No, no, no it wasn’t! The numbing hurt but the 60cc of Cortisone left me unable to emit word!!!

I think I have this problem. I can't bend my knee. It looks swollen.

I remember I banged my knee on a piece of metal pipe. My knee filled up with liquid and it was swollen LOL It took over a week for it to go back down hahahaha I hit that pole running full speed!

Why no cracking noises as they claim that cavitation caused by low pressure and popping bubbles cause joint cracks ? Pulling the syvonial fluid through the syring should provide a low pressure for sure !!

Bbrrrooo I work in a hospital lab and I am one of the last person’s the fluid goes to (I put it on the slides, agar plates, etc).
Please, for the love of all that is holy in the medical field… *label the damn tube properly*.
For those that do? AND get the orders in before it comes up to me? Bravo good sirs/ma’ams.

I drained my knee last week but still with a lot of resting and ice it reappeared. I don’t have much pain and don’t have any ligament or meniscus tears. But the fluid keeps building up, day over day… do you know what can I do?

I held my husband's hands as he was getting this done while standing at his head.
Right after I sat down quickly. Doctor got in my way from me standing up. He thought I was going to pass out. My husband told him loudly to move and get out of my way. Doctor stayed and wanted me to talk.

If I spoke, I would have baptized his shoes in the name of my lunch.
