Stannis looked at jon straight away because he respects the people who speak/stand for him

Ned's name carries so much respect. Even among people who hated him.

Stannis probably thought Ned was the only person in the entirety of Westeros to be worthy of his respect.

The Stark and Baratheon brotherhood wasn't nearly discussed enough.

Ned was mocked for being honourable to a fault. It even seemed like one of the themes of the show that the honour of someone like Ned would be their downfall whilst the cunning and treachery of Tyrion playing the game is pragmatic.
But scenes like this, where Ned's legacy lives on long after his death, that theme is my favourite from the entire story.

Honour might not be appreciated immediately but it's imprint can't be destroyed by death. The Lannisters killed Ned Stark but couldn't kill his honour as even in death, the name Ned Stark commanded more respect than the entire Lannisters could imagine.

I like how Jon doesn’t let being called “Boy” effect him like Robb does

"you're speaking to the one true king boy" he was answering to YOUR question Ser Davos

The respect he has for Ned Stark is honorable. Stark/Baratheon brotherhood was so strong 💪🏼

I think Stanis was probably the best choice for King. He unfortunately let the Red Witch influence him, his downfall. Asking John what his father would have done, always respected that. But obviously he had his flaws.

After many years and many times watching, I think Stannis might be my favourite character

Ned stark. That name was enough to make any lord in the whole Westeros to bow their heads with respect.

Honour is what carries on your legacy even after you are dead, people will remember you.

'You're looking at the one true king boy." Little did he know at the time that HE(Ser Davos) was looking at the real one true king.

One of the reasons I like stannis's Character so much is that with little expressions he expresses it all.

I remember this from the book "Robert was the true steel. Stannis is pure iron, black and hard and strong, yes, but brittle, the way iron gets. He'll break before he bends. And Renly, that one, he's copper, bright and shiny, pretty to look at but not worth all that much at the end of the day."

I think Robert's depiction in the series was too harsh. He could not have won the rebellion if he was as much an oaf as he was in the show

You never know how one good deed in a world of evil could literally save your life.

Literally the first thing Ned does is kill a Night's Watch deserter (like Mance) without hearing him out lol
