The Mannis was just making a mental note to punish the Freys later.

Stannis: I should have hanged Walder Frey 60 years ago.
But you're only 40 Your Grace.
Stannis: I know.

One of the coolest things about Stannis' character is his respect for even those he calls his enemies. He saw Robb as another traitor but seeing him and his family betrayed in such a way disgusts and enrages him.

I just listen to the audio version of this. Davos and Melisandre speaks almost like angel and devil on Stannis'shoulder

In the books he also hesitated before speaking Robb Stark's name for the third and final leech. He did not hesitate with Joffrey and Balon Greyjoy.

Robb dying, and the manner in which he was murdered, probably one of the saddest moments in the books, and tv history.

Stannis wanted "the usurper" Robb Stark gone. But even he was disgusted at the dishonor of how it happened.

There was a line later when Stannis says something to the effect of 'It seems weddings are more dangerous than battles these days' Stannis was always brilliantly and possibly unintentionally Witty and funny

Stannis was Stannis about it, Melisandra was Melisandra about it, and Davos said that the Freys were a-holes and they were f'd up for such a bad thing.

Fun Fact: Jon Snow was in denial over Robb’s death. He kept hoping when he heard “a king” was arriving at the wall he hoped it was Robb despite knowing he died. He yelled at Ghost thinking he’d abandon him like Robb and Ygritte did. When Jon mentions Robb’s death he stutters. Their relationship is so underrated and moments like these put into perspective Jon isn’t even 17.

You know if this was a real life history and there were no dragons I would put my money on Stannis winning the second Tywin died. In fact Cersei is trying to make sure half or more of the nobles want to back someone other than her kids.

Stannis also paused on robb name when he threw the leeches in the fire when said all thier names unlike balon and joffery which said with no pause or enything.

“Slaughter Under Trust” actually used to be considered a heinous crime. If you took someone in, fed them, gave them a bed for the night, etc, they killed them? BIG no.

Imagine how much better off Westeros woulda been had Stannis won at the battle of the blackwater and took the iron throne.... He'd have had every Lannister put to death. Most likely made a deal with Robb to bend the knee for Sansa's safe return.

He instantly executes Littlefinger, Varys and Pycelle then most likely joins forces with Robb to put down an inevitable Tyrell rebellion and I guess hopes the Vale don't join them as Lysa loved Littlefinger then dealt with the greyjoys. That woulda made for a very interesting G.O.T too imo, Dorne most likely stay neutral considering their new king just avenged everyone responsible for their sister's and Niece's and Nephew's murder.

Davos states the Freys as "cursed" because the Red Wedding represents guest-killing, which is a serious taboo in Westeros. Stannis might have hated Robb, but had some decency to not act in a reckless way.

Mel probably saw the vision as we did see what would happen to rob long before he got to the wedding. George is pretty good at seeing the wide range of emotions or indifference to a tragic event

The one true king of westeros. Sometimes when I'm listening to the books my mind will drift, but never in Stannis chapters. the Stannis and john scenes in the book are by far my favorite.

Ser Davos' reaction was definitely on point. Stannis, for as much of a fanatic as he was, did not like things like this. Remember how he made sure Jamie Lannister was addressed properly in a letter?
