Game of Thrones 5x2 - Stannis offers Jon Snow to become Jon Stark, Lord of Winterfell (HD)

This is one of my favorite scenes. Stannis offered Jon what he always wanted, not Winterfell, not the power, Stannis offered him to have the last name Stark.

The look on Jon’s eyes. All he ever wanted was to be recognized as a Stark and not a bastard. Would’ve been really cool to see him accept on the show.

Hindsight, had Jon bent the knee and become a stark they could’ve beat back Ramsey. Took the north. Provided lands to the wildlings and formed a despicable army to face the nightking

God Kit is such a great actor. His eyes when Stan is offers him the stark name is heartbreaking.

Jon really pissed me off with Stannis offer... He offered Jon to be naturalized as a Stark if he would pledge fealty to Stannis and tried to get the wildings to fight with him....What does Jon Snow do anyway after Stannis dies? He fights the same enemy Stannis asked him to fight, and then abandons the nights watch to rule Winterfell

I always like this scene in retrospect because it contains the 2 legitimate claimants to the Iron Throne:

- Jon is the rightful (though unknown) Targaryen heir to the Iron Throne.

-Stannis is the true Baratheon heir to the Iron Throne through his brothers right of conquest.

Imagine a world where Stannis became King and made Jon Lord of Winterfell…only for him to possibly later find out Jon is the heir of the dynasty that his overthrew.

Everything after this moment was horrible. Jon should have accepted and fought the Night King with Stannis at the Wall.

I hope the books are different from the series. I wouldn't mind an ending with Jon Stark in Winterfell, and a wildling wife.

Imagine if Jon supported Stannis, Tormund would have led his freefolk with Jon on the promise of land in the North. They would have had a bigger army against Ramsay. Jon would have also rallied other northern houses against Ramsay. They would have won and proceed to gather more allies against Cersei. Maybe even find middle ground to temporarily get Renly’s forces to help. That would have been an awesome plot. Then Dany would have to fight another baratheon but I’m pretty sure Dorne would prefer a baratheon after all, lorewise, they always rebelled against targaryens.
