Stannis is weirdly an amazing character, made all the better by the fact that the actor didn’t read any of the books and thought the show was silly lmao

It's a real tragedy that the Baratheon brothers could never set aside their differences and work together. With Robert's skill as a warrior and commander, Stannis' leadership and unbreakable will, combined with Renly's charisma and political mind, no one could have stood against them. It would be interesting to imagine how strong they could have made the country if they had just worked together.

In the book version of this scene, Catelyn thinks to herself, "Cersei Lannister is laughing herself breathless." And she's right. In the previous chapter, Tyrion and Cersei get word that Stannis and Renly are fighting each other, and in a rare moment of camaraderie, they dissolve into laughter together.
