The CENTRAL PROBLEM - Always Blaming Someone

Harry has just blamed the Press / media for being the 'central cause' of the rift between the him and Royal Family. Not because he betrayed his family for 30 pieces of silver, not because he's spent the last four years relentlessly attacking them through a series of interviews, a book, podcasts, tv documentaries etc, not because he's lied about them and accused them of all manner of cruelty towards not just himself, but Meghan and even their children. No, apparently the new narrative is, it's the evil medias fault. Got it.

Racism aside, all of Harry and Meghan's gripes about the RF are pretty insubstantial. Here are a few of those gripes: Charles stopped giving Harry an allowance (at age 36); the Queen cancelled a meeting with Harry; Catherine made Meghan cry; the RF didn't do enough to help the Sussexes (again, both H & M being in their mid-to-late 30's at the time). Catherine went shopping and didn't ask Meghan along; William grabbed Harry, gave him a thump and he landed in the dog bowl and broke his necklace; William got an extra sausage for breakfast; William got the larger side of the bedroom at Balmoral; Catherine once looked at Meghan in a funny
None of this amounts to much more than the normal ripples of family life. Rather than publicly whingeing about what granny, aged 94 and papa, aged 72, should be doing for you, most people in their mid-to-late 30's are looking to see what they can do for their ageing relatives!

As a German, I can only encourage you Brits to keep your royal family. In Germany, it is the Federal President who has the role of representing the German people. He is chosen every five years in an undignified party haggle and it always ends with a washed-up party grandee being hoisted onto the throne who is not approved by the vast majority of Germans. A hereditary monarchy at least has to make a continuous effort to stay in the good graces of the British subjects.
