It works. I have been doing your exercises for a long, long time, especially the brutal spartan push ups and the explosive variations.
I must say that body weight exercises really do the job, when it comes to core strength and overall fitness of the body, this kind of workout can really make the difference and you don't have to pay any membership.
Only muscles I find it hard to successfully work out with body weight exercises, when I don't have a bar, are the biceps....
