I'm going to show you how to make delicious keto protein bars. These healthy protein bars are so easy to make, and you can keep them in the refrigerator or the freezer. Just take one out when you need it, and have it right after a meal.

It can be difficult to identify if the products you're shopping for are actually healthy or not. For a product to be keto-friendly, it has to contain less than 50 grams of carbohydrates. The label "keto" or "keto-friendly" has nothing to do with the type of carbs or the quality of the nutrients. I believe some keto-friendly products are even dangerous.

It's crucial that you check the labels on the products you buy. Even if the product is keto-friendly, it may not be healthy. It's not "lose weight to get healthy"—it's "get healthy to lose weight". To get healthy, you have to consume healthy ingredients.

Healthy Keto Homemade Protein Bar Recipe

Ingredients:
1 stick of butter (or 1/2 cup coconut butter or coconut oil)
2 Tbsp xylitol or erythritol
1 cup coconut flour, whole egg protein powder, or whey protein powder
1 cup crushed nuts
1 cup chocolate chips
1 tsp vanilla extract
A pinch of sea salt

Directions:
Cover a cookie sheet with wax paper. Mix all of the ingredients in a bowl. Form the bars and place them on the cookie sheet. Put the cookie sheet in the freezer for about 3 to 5 minutes, or until the bars have hardened. Store the bars in the freezer or refrigerator. If you store them in the freezer, take the bar out and leave it at room temperature for about 5 minutes before eating.

This is a Magnum Opus video Dr. Berg! It completely answers the question on non-sugar sweeteners that I asked you during your Friday show a few weeks ago. I am disappointed with these companies.😭 It feels like they have lied to the diabetic community. 😡 THANK YOU for bringing the truth to light. On behalf of my keto T1D daughter, thank Her A1C may come down even more now that we have this info. Also, I took your advice and wrote to three different "Stevia" companies, asking for written documentation proving that there is no moltotextrin and/or additives in the production process. Still waiting for their responses. I was almost in tears watching this video. You put so much work into it. This mama bear thanks you from the bottom of my heart!!!! 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

Made my first batch but added cinnamon as I had just gotten a bunch. I found it easier to press the mixture into a 4x6 mini-muffin cooking sheet, freeze then put into a bag. Made exactly 24.

Just made some today but left out the chocolate (I can always add a dark chocolate drizzle on top later if I like). I added nuts, golden fkaxseed, chia and pumpkin seeds and used coconut flour. A nice alternative to the peanut butter ones I usually make .
I've never enjoyed pre packaged protein bars anyway.

I’ve been waiting to hear more about the ‘keto friendly” chocolates and foods. Thank you!

Incredible recipe! And I would not add sweeteners at all since butter and coconut already adds that sweet taste because of the fatty texture. Instead, I went on, and I put in cinnamon, ginger and cardamone. That's my personal improvisation :D

Love this recipe. Exactly what I was looking for as I will never buy store bought bars, no matter keto or organic etc. question….do you melt the butter or room temperature soft butter? Can’t get enough of your videos, true life changing information. Thank you for all you put into your videos and more then anything, putting information into simple language. 🙏💐

Lily's chocolate chips use stevia. In one of Dr. Berg's videos, he mentioned that some brands of stevia may contain maltodextrin. How do we know if the stevia in Lily's chocolate has matodextrin? I'm a fan of Dr. Bergs. He's my go-to for everything about keto.

Update: I left a message that these were too crumbly to hold together so I added a bit of water and squeezed a tablespoon of the mix and it held together. They looked terrible but I froze them. This morning I tasted one. It was delicious!!! I did use the whole egg powder that Dr. Berg suggested ….maybe that made it crumbly…not sure but I would use it again.
Next time I will still use the water to moisten the mixture and press it into a parchment paper sleeve lined 8x8 and freeze it. The sleeve makes it easy to pull it out and then cut it into bars. Well I will find out, but this is a keeper for sure. Thanks Doc!

The semi sweet lily's chocolate chips are fantastic. I use them in recipes, but more often just eat a handful after a meal. In my area a 9oz bag of lily's chocolate chips is only about a dollar fifty more than any of the 3oz lily's bars. It ends up being way cheaper to get a bag and eat a little at a time. They melt well and are great for ganache too.

When I did keto many years ago i made my own chocolate filled with nuts etc. and also made protein bars but started binge eating it. I changed to eating carnivore and made carnivore bars (Pemmican) which is dehydrated beef and fat and salt (optional) . Very delicious.

In Indian state of Karnataka we make Karadantu( ಕರದಂಟು) a type of protein bar. We use jaggery instead of sugar which makes it healthy. Use copra( dried coconut) for sweet texture. Several videos are available to know how to make.
