At least the note 7 was a reliable source of memes.

We consider the note 7 as a "blast from the past"

They even called the note7 timebomb. Even with completely power off, the battery still reacts uncontrollably.

Me watching this from my 15 Pro Max that overheated 10 minutes ago because I tried to take a photo of my dog and open it in the photos app! The overheating issues made me almost hate this phone!

Biggest fault with phones is the non user replaceable battery.... a deliberately anti consumer design feature

I understand why you don't make as many videos now but I miss your more frequent contributions!

The note 7 is the best-looking device to this day tbh.. something about that design makes it look amazing.. it was perfect until it started blowing up

00:12 "Total Recall"? That's a good movie.

In Vietnam, the iPhone 13 series also have a display issue, especially the "white screen issue" on the iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max after updating the software due to the 120hz display on those models, that can be fixed by jumping wires I guess

Hugh, please next time make a review of some popular chinese brand. Not Welcome phones, but obviously like Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo, Reno, Realme, POCO, etc. Maybe some teardown and comparison to western smartphone about its inside.

It might be little politic about US vs China tech war but well, it's completely about quality between their smartphones.

I thought Google's first phone release was the flippy G1 with a physical keyboard.

Dude, cover LG phones. LG G3, G4, G5, V10, V20, V30, Flex, Flex 2, had THE SAME issiue over the years - bad SoC underfill which casued those phones to die after 1-2 years. And I am SURE that other LG phones had same issiue, because my fiends of colleges with other, cheaper LG phones had same dying phones!

I've been a pixel user since 2018, and my pixel 1 did not have any audio issues. I have heard many a horror story of the pixel 6 experiencing multiple types of failure.

My friend got a brand new Galaxy A71 (wasn't at launch but close) from his workplace, which started randomly shutting off less than a month in. And he needed to connect it to his PC to "revive it", effectively factory resetting the phone each time.
We went to our closest Samsung Store and they fixed it through the warranty program, it took like 2 weeks and they replaced the logic board. It still works flawlessly to this day after that.

I remember when I was little, I had an iPad (I believe a 2013 model- the 4) that suffered from a weird issue when it got old that would permanently disable the transparency blur in the UI. This was on its last supported version, iOS 10. To this day, I still don't know why this happened. If anyone knows why, I'd be glad to hear it.

That's the problem with current gadgets. The more tech and features you cram, the greater the chance that something or some part will fail.

I went through 3 identical iPhone 6S phones which all had some of the same and some different problems. The first one got a ton of dust under the screen (through the mute switch) within 3 weeks of getting it. The second had "unexplainable hardware failures" as Apple put it (it was actually the battery issue that later got a service program). The third also got dust under the screen, but I didn't bother replacing it. That phone then lasted 7 years of regular use and still works, albeit with a replaced battery and an excessive amount of dust under the screen.

The iPhone 7 audio issue did have a service program for it. I worked at an AASP at the time and processed a good amount of them. Then, one day, all documentation regarding it disappeared.

As Dave Jones would say: No worries mate, never had an issue with my Shoe Phone!

Iphone 6 was the worst. Even to the point of Apple settling the class action lawsuit for "manual" slow downs with iOS updates.

After repairing several iPhones over the years, the iPhone 6 was the most common one. I still have a box of about 25 of them.
