A thought an language teacher of mine had brought up:
Write down an opinion. Then think of expressly, most accurately and precisely what our opinion is, and then look up an adjective or phrase to match that specific concept. Lastly, the teacher listed reasoning behind it: If our words are to describe what our stance is most efficiently, it needs to match our selves, purpose, and audience. A purposeful “funnel” to pour thoughts into other people.

Honestly, this comment is me explaining a concept for practice.

Here's how you increase you vocabulary:

1. Read a book
2. Find word you don't know about
3. Figure out what it means
4. Use that word appropriately according to what you mean.

Good suggestion 👍 This is how I increase my vocabulary in my own way-
1. Create your own list of synonyms words & keep it handy let say Google Keep App.
2. Regularly revise this list
3. Practice using these words in your day to day conversations
3. Regularly use alternate or polish words in your communication to gain confidence.
4. Read articles, newspapers, books regularly.
5. Watch good conversational Podcasts to understand the nuances.

About the final claim about looking up synonyms for frequently used words, that's actually what I've been doing myself too. For example, I like saying how I ''Honestly'' feel about something very frequently, so I looked up synonyms and now words like ''Genuinely'' and ''Unironically'' are some of my most frequently used. Very good trick that I would recommend to other foreigners like me looking forward to learning English or any other language.

I watched your other video about filming yourself without rehearsing and use steps to cut out fillers. This is a great video to go with that. Another gold nugget of a video Vinh

WOW WOW WOW! As a polyglot who talk to myself a lot, I recently started to use the targeted language to challenge myself in order to improve, by talking to myself about my stories & thoughts in topics that I still haven’t reach sufficient level to share with others.

I would use translation app to find new foreign words that I haven’t acquired yet. Stumbling upon this particular video of yours just gave me a new idea on how to build my foreign languages’ vocabulary in a more systematic way
(record,
transcribe,
analysis,
thesaurus!)
& therefore logically more efficient.

Also, since the synonyms are already words that I am using, I can start using those new (or already acquired but just seldom used) words!

Thank you so much! I can’t wait to try your method because I know it will work!

Read more books. That's helped me a lot. Read a book at least 3 times. Only then you can truly understand what's written in it (no matter how good you think you know it).

By 3 times ofc not one after another. Read one, then read several others. Then come back to the 1st. Like that your level of understanding keeps on increasing.

I love that you give tangible and actionable suggestions.

I do this all the time, although without the transcription.
English is my 3rd language and so sometimes I look for a word to precisely express what I meant and then I go to a dictionary app and look for synonyms there. I love it, I use it really often and it helps a lot

Good to see I'm not alone here. Seeing people are also struggling to make their voice clearer inspired me😊😊 You all are my motivation 🥺
