When using chia seeds do we just throw them in say, a smoothie? Or do they have to be ground in a grinder first?

TIA

I tend to be skeptical of anyone (or study) demonizing red meat. They're often cherry-picked and I've yet to hear of one where they separate those who are eating proper meat with only GOOD stuff on it (like herbs and such) vs. those who eat it with sauces and other things that contain all sorts of strange chemicals and such... and those who just have regular meat vs. those who consume highly processed meat products (like various sausages and such). I bet we'd get different results between them and it would make a huge difference. I function better with beef in my system than when I go long periods of time without it. If you check out "The China Study", it's clear the guy pushing it engaged in cherry-picking of data and the study/book has been debunked at various levels.
That said, what your meat animals are fed can make a difference and how they're raised can make a difference, so being selective on that level can be beneficial.

I’m confused. Most professionals advise us people with IBS to avoid certain fruits like ripe bananas or vegetables and to introduce more meat in our regimes.

The world needs more vague generalities about things that help stuff get "better". Clearly ten servings of rye bread per day and ten servings of sourdough bread per day will eliminate disease and aging from planet Earth forever.
