Great tips! I wanted to add, walk briskly for 20min after every meal, this has been a game changer for me.

I’ve been in great shape my whole life until the pandemic and Peru all hit simultaneously. Whew Lord it’s been a struggle but I’m learning this new era in my life as a fitness and health coach.

I remember my middle section was so flat before menopause, My neighbor told me she wish her middle section was like mine, now as I am in menopause it's not flat anyone 😢

These are great tips Kari. For me I'm still in perimenopause but I have managed so far to be in better shape than I was in my 20s. Whats worked for me is weight training since my late 20s, cardio, yoga and meditation, clean eating, no processed food, no red meat or cured meats or white foods like rice, pasta etc, eating protein and good fats as a priority and my vitamins and supplements incl collagen. No alcoholic beverages, heaps of water and definitely intermittent fasting I stop eating at 5.30pm and eat again around 9am. I was having gut health issues and I started a good women's probiotic as well as first thing in the morning hot water with a little lemon juice and my digestive system is working so well now. I often am tired due to low iron but I still exercise no excuses and I feel so much better for it in mind and body.

I was overweight and very close to obese my entire peri and menopause years. I now am in a normal weight range and have a flat stomach again. I have lost muscle mass but never really had a muscular tone to my body. Even as a shapely 20 year old I was soft😂. I attribute my success with losing the unwanted lbs. to changing jobs from working from home to a physically demanding job in manufacturing. I walk a lot. No crazy restrictive dieting for me either but I do eat once a day most days. Im focusing on lifting lite weights and strengthening exercise to see if I can regain some muscle which for me is harder than losing weight. This menopause thing is not one size fits all but we need to find what works for us personally and stick to it

I lost 35 pounds in 3 years by cutting out ALL alcohol, processed meats, all dairy. Am now post menopausal and haven’t gained an ounce. I think it might be easier to avoid gaining the weight if you work on it before you begin that final transition to post menopause. Just my two cents.

We have so much more information now. My mom knew little to nothing regarding what was happening to her body during menopause.

Great video. Stress reduction is so key in menopause; it's our number one enemy. Following a whole foods diet helps a lot as does moving every day. I think we all get surprised by the weight gain as menopause sneaks up on us and suddenly we can't workout or eat like we used to. But with lifestyle changes you can get your old self back, it may take a little time but it's possible.

I've been keto then later low carb for a total of 6 years. Started having symptoms last year and took hrt at 47. I started keto again which helped me from getting a full night sleep again without sleep supplements or hrt. I took 0.5mg estradiol and progesterone cyclically (both body identical) for symptoms. I notice since going keto again, I have no symptoms of menopause and haven't taken the estradiol lately. I do zone 2 on my stationary bike for at least an hour several times a week, weight training, and HIIT.

Weight...Oh weight. I'm in menopause now but gained a lot of weight in pre-menopause and was in the obese range for my height and weight. Last year I joined WW and have lost 22 pounds went from a size 14 to a size 6. However, now I am stuck with the loss and I have this ugly roll around my tummy. I started WW to lower my A1C which it did with the loss. Now that I am stuck at my current weight my A1C is going back up again (plus it's genetic). I have not tried probiotics or collagen yet but after this video going to order some now. I don't have anyone to talk to in my family or even friend circle about Menopause so when I found Kari's video's the first thing I said was, "thank god this is normal". She has been a blessing for all these changes occouring in my body. I thought I was loosing my mind until I found her. Thank you Kari for doing these video's you are a blessing!!!!

I am also in pre-menopause, these symptoms have made my life miserable, every day I wake up with fear when there is no more energy left in my body to do anything. what, I have been fighting with it for 4 months now, every day I am exhausted and very very tired, I am very scared and worried, I have no energy to go to work or anywhere, I feel I felt very weak and depressed, I cried a lot and didn't know that I was having symptoms of premenopause coming back to me. So cruel, I finally had to go to a gynecologist to get help. help, I cried a lot to her and begged her to help me, after being tested for Blood and urine as well as taking pictures and finally I chose to have HRT treatment even though I knew those things there will be side effects later but I can't live every day with a weak body, I have been on HRT treatment for 2 weeks but I still haven't seen any change, I hope HRT will give me strength again. Life is normal like before 😢😢😢😢😢😪😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😪😪😪😪

I’ve been struggling for ages with my wait. I’m off to get collagen, and concentrate on my sleep. Thank you for all your good advice! 😊

Kari Anne, as always the best practical, simple advice🤗👍. I am so glad you mentioned sleep. Lack of sleep does lead to weight gain.
