Diet and skin cancer prevention (and younger looking skin too!)

The role of diet in skin cancer prevention is limited. Protection from excess sun exposure and avoidance of sun burns is the most important environmental factor that can predispose to skin cancer. However, there is evidence that some food may help in the fight against skin cancer. A Mediterranean diet rich in fresh fruit, vegetables, nuts and spices is possible the best dietary option. Supplements, with the exception of oral nicotinamide, have been generally unsuccessful in skin cancer prevention.

Antioxidant/Antiinflammatory rich foods are so important for your diet, carbs are really bad, though required in our diet, try getting 25grams or less daily.

One of the most important things to do to prevent skin cancer is wear the right clothing when you're outside a lot. Whenever I'm walking my dog or doing yard work I'm wearing:

-Hoodie made of 100% polyester
-Air wicking pants
-Shoes with tall socks
-Neck gaitor
-Sunglasses
-Gloves

With these you don't have to worry about remembering to reapplying sunscreen.
