Today we look at the top 20 Reasons Alabama isn't a good fit for everyone.
Now, Alabama is an excellent state with affordable real estate, good people, beautiful landscapes, and friendly cities. But, like I said, it's not for everyone. In this video, we will review the results of a survey we did where we asked Alabama residents what they disliked about living in their state. And you'll never hear them say the University of Alabama or Alabama State University.

As someone from Alabama, we don’t talk about Alabama.

To be fair. Alabama has some Florida quality beaches. Orange Beach and Gulf Shores are nice looking to this tourist passing through.

I've been living in Huntsville since 2019. This is one of the best places in Alabama to live in.

It doesn’t matter where you are. Let’s be honest. Wages have been stagnant, no matter where you are, even here in Miami, and even in Los Angeles, and in New York or even in Atlanta whatever. Everything has gone up in prices except that. Making things worse, Wall Street is ruling the housing market.

The whole "stay and fight for your state" thing doesn't work in some states. Take California for example; there are about 5 million registered republicans in California, but that only makes up about 1/3 of the voting population, and 1/3 of the vote doesn't change anything. Better off leaving to go to a state where your vote actually counts for something.

Huntsville is like Fayetteville, Arkansas, completely different from the rest of the state and both are in the north part of their respective states.

As a high schooler who lives 15 minutes outside of Birmingham, summers are spent on the numerous lakes around, Smith, Logan Martin, Lay, Guntersville. Most Friday nights are spent around a bonfire, some at a house party. There’s not much else to do. Football is very very big, I’m a part of a 7A school, an the funding goes 90% it feels like to football. White collared, blue collared, any collar you can think of, the jobs are numerous. Working at a sports bar after school, I’ve met everyone in my town an everybody I’ve met for the most part is unique and memorable, I think bama has been my place an I’ll be here for most my life.

Briggs, you rock! I'm from Alabama, born and raised. I agree with your list, but Mee-maw and the politicians have lost their minds. Peace ❤

I visited the Mobile area back in November and I can't wait to go back. The people were wonderful, and the area was beautiful.

As an Anniston native, I cannot emphasize enough how that city -known as The Model City, since the Eighties went from a thriving medium sized metropolis to the Turn of the Century, l to a gang-ridden, depopulated, ruin of it former self. Mr. Briggs, you could do an episode on Anniston. It is a "model" these days, for the way American cities are dying. Built to house Cotton and Steel mills in the 1880s, a century later, those jobs went over seas, and as the Cold War came to a close, Fort McClellan closed in the early Nineties, and crime flowed in, as the legitimate jobs disappeared.

The best part of Alabama is seeing it in your rear view when you move away.

Going on summer vacation to Alabama to visit my sister her hubby and their 4 kids! My first time going to Alabama! She loves it there! They bought a nice house about 3 years ago for 200+ k that would probably cost 400-500k plus in WA state. So I’m excited to check it out!

My Dads family is from Alabama. Native American. Creek. My homeland. Talladega National Forest was once ours. All of it. From Tuscaloosa to SC Atlantic Coast. However, when Dad moved us from there it was the best thing he ever did for me and my sisters & brother. Seriously. Education System is horrible. Thanks to Governors & GOP, & the Churches have WAY TOO much say so over Politicians and Laws. Stuck in 1965.

I moved here from Massachusetts back in 96'. I literally can not stand going back up there to visit family. I love the south! People are friendly and always there to lend a hand and I have not experienced any crime or racism in the 28 years that I have lived here. I love Alabama and will NEVER leave. Is it perfect? No. But neither am I.

I attended Chemical School at Ft McClellan located in Anniston Alabama. Those were some of the best days of my life. People inviting me into their homes for dinner just because I was walking down the street was fantastic!

Could you do one of these for Tennessee? We have way too many people moving here.
