Queen Elizabeth i is known as the virgin queen, famously she never married. But was the reason for this because she was a man?

If she was a man I believe her mother would not have been killed

She was turned off of marriage because of what happened to her mother. She didn’t want a man to reign over her and she wore wigs because she lost her hair.

Just because a woman doesn’t want to be controlled by a man (ie married), makes her a man 🤣🤣

I was very much not a man. They only wanted to create confusion and drama. You see, when I declined the duke of Anjou's proposal he was mad. He did spread those fake rumours. Shame on him

This rumor only started because she didn't want to get married...the only thing I don't believe is that she was a virgin... she wore a wig because she was losing her hair.

The whole idea is insulting to the memory of Elizabeth and it insults the intelligence of everyone else.

Why would she pretend to be a man? Pretending to be a woman would gain nothing.

That would have made Lord Robert, Earl of Lester, a homosexual.

Theory: she was a born a girl and died in whatever place her father left her in after her mother's execution and her caretakers got scared and wanted to still receive some "Medieval-Child-Support" so they buried her and replaced her identity with an orphan ginger boy, and maybe they cut him down there to make sure he can never be a man even behind closed doors

lol if she were a man her father definitely would've known about it and wouldn't have allowed her to be raised as a girl

It's nonsense Elizabeth had ladies whose whole reason was to serve the queen dressing undressing washing. Her mother was executed before she was 3, her stepmother died in childbed next one divorced next beheaded next survived but died in child after her next marriage. Do u need anything more to answer why she didn't marry

I’m not supporting this idea of Elizabeth 1st being a man !!! I’m more with she refused marriage because of what it brought on her mother. She used heavy facials to cover chicken pox scars. That’s all. I have great admiration to her. I also appreciate opinions getting Christianity in one church ⛪️ One people under one God💒✝️☦️🛐

She knew from everything she went through as a child and then barely surviving her brother and sister's reigns that if she got married she would lose her power and she believed that she was placed there by divine right! This way she also got to use the possibility of a marriage to another royal house as a bargaining and diplomacy tool for many, many years. She also had the example of how dangerous childbirth could be just from her sister Mary. That's how she got the throne, remember. So she would be very concerned about not making the same mistakes and she didn't need a man to prop her up like Mary did or wanted. She was just as much of a force as her father. So I don't see it having any truth to it.

I'm glad you concluded with your belief that Elizabeth I was a woman. I don't see any possibility that she was otherwise. To my knowledge, there weren't any doubters about her sex alive during her reign, or, if there were they were never taken seriously by their contemporaries. Besides, that would have made Robert Dudley, what, a gay man who also happened to marry more than once?? Somehow that doesn't fit the narrative of Elizabeth being a male.

So much has been written about Elizabeth and so much of it is hearsay or pure nonsense it beggars belief. Why does this queen of all the myriad European monarchs that ever existed still fascinates so many to this day? She polarizes people to such an extreme that her admirers worship her as an angelic figure and extol her endless virtues, while her detractors condemn her as an unworthy usurper that visited England like a plague for nearly half a century.

“I’m all woman. I’m no man, ” says Elizabeth I. I know that’s right Elizabeth. A strong woman is a strong woman!
