Mary was a short-lived, little-favoured Catholic and Elizabeth was a long-reigning, all-admired Protestant. However, Henry VIII's daughters have more in common than meets the eye.

It’s nice to know that everyone remembers Henry as an utter disappointment and a horrible person.

Interesting how men would curse the women for not being able to bare a son, when its actually the men’s sperm carrying the chromosome that decides the gender of the baby

It's so absurd how when a woman gives birth to a girl it is her fault but when she gives birth to a son the man is praised and she is just forgotten.

Henry was a such hypocrite. If he thinks he marriage to Catherine was incest because she’s Arthur’s widow, then his marriage to Anne was basically the same thing because her older sister, Mary Boleyn, was his former mistress.

Catherine was so faithful to Henry, she is the victim in all of this, she did not deserve the embarrassment Henry caused her.

He wanted a son so bad, both his daughters still succeeded him.

I love how every portrait of Mary looks like an entirely different person 👌🏼

The fact that Anne was killed for not giving birth to a son, but Elizabeth went on to become a great leader is such a laugh at Henry's face

Poor Mary I've always felt sorry for both her and her mother Catherine.

Henry liked children yet he ended up treating his daughters like crap? I’m trying to work that out.

Who here wishes that we were showing these videos at school, they are so much more interesting.
The way we were taught about them in school where I come from was so boring, I really did not care for it

It's a shame that Mary occupies a dark place in history. Could she have been seen in a more positive light if she lived longer? Maybe. One thing is for sure, Mary and Elizabeth have laid the foundations of modern England and Britain.

What's interesting is that Mary held many grudges against many people surrounding her father for destroying her life, but not against her father directly. In truth, he was the one solely responsible for her misery, yet he was the only one she seemed to hold no grudge against.

What Philip did, marrying Mary, then trying to get Elizabeth to marry him. Before Mary was dead had to be the final heartbreak for Mary. Honestly, I can understand Mary's anger at this. She should have been angry at Philip not Elizabeth.

I think both Mary and Elizabeth were victims of mistreatment by men but in different ways, Elizabeth was abused by seymore and Mary was basically disowned by her father Elizabeth was too but not as harshly as Mary

It is also worth mentioning that Mary's maternal grandmother was a queen in her own right, and having been raised by Catherine, she was sure to have heard a lot about it and had that normalized since a young age. She already had reigning queen's blood.

I’ve learned more from this video 15 mins in than I did in all my years of education.

In my opinion, Mary had actually been Elizabeth's teacher in the arts of statecraft and queenship. Not directly, perhaps, but still indirectly. She taught Elizabeth what a Queen must and must not do, and Elizabeth in turn had learned her lessons well. As someone who believes in an afterlife, I honestly hope that, in that other world, these two sisters had resolved their differences, and come to a true complete reconciliation. After all, at the end of the day, they are sisters, and have so much in common.

I still argue the point that Henry did not fall in love with Anne. He fell in "lust, " especially since she successfully held him at bay for a number of years.
