Her determination to remain independent her whole life impresses me. She was in love with a courtier, Rober Dudley, and it is said she had a weakness for handsome young men in her court. But even still, she forsook any relationship with either Dudley or any other man, and (arguably) never experienced sex. She must have felt very lonely at times, and this wasn't a time when women could have the equivalent of a "mistress" like men did, much less a regent queen. She was truly a determined, firm ruler.
