In this video "9 Bad Habits that are Destroying Your Kidneys" serves as a potent reminder of the common but harmful routines that threaten kidney health. It begins by addressing the peril of too much salt, which burdens the kidneys by raising blood pressure. The video emphasizes the importance of hydration, as neglecting it reduces vital blood flow to the kidneys, potentially leading to stones and infections. It also exposes the dangers of high sugar intake that, by fostering obesity and diabetes, increases the risk of kidney damage.
Painkillers like NSAIDs, when overused, compromise kidney function, a fact backed by medical research. Similarly, smoking constricts blood vessels, impairing renal filtration, and increasing CKD risk. Excessive alcohol, the video notes, not only raises blood pressure but also directly damages renal tissue.
Furthermore, the video alerts viewers to the risks of forgoing regular exercise and ignoring UTIs, both of which can lead to significant kidney issues. Lastly, it discusses how caffeine in excess can cause dehydration and elevate the risk of kidney stones. Each habit is presented with a clear scientific explanation, making a strong argument for immediate lifestyle adjustments to protect our kidneys.

Of all the habits mentioned, the only one which I find incomprehensible is lack of hydration. If you feel thirsty, you drink water. How can you not hydrate yourself?

My story?
I was put on lisinpril for blood pressure in 2015....during the “bug” when all medical facilities were shut down, could not go for a blood test, even though I felt lousy.... when I got a blood test I had to go to the emergency room as my creatin was 9(normal is about 1) and my gfr was 6( normal is north of 70)
Got it fixed using steroids and changed medication
Fast forward to three weeks ago.... my cholesterol medication was increased from 20 to my kidney numbers went to shit the the prescription medication you are all these doctors are guessing a lot
