You should get different containers of pencils for each class and tell every class that which ever class has the most pencils left at the end of each month gets a prize 😂

My teachers straight up yell at you if you don’t have your own equipment. If you’re lucky they give you a spare pen or pencil

I don't know if you've heard this recently. But I think it's important that you hear it from somebody. Thank you for everything you are doing. This country is in dire need of passionate teachers like you. You are the groomers of our next generation. And I do not believe we appreciate teachers anywhere near enough in this country. So again, thank you.

I don't understand how someone could have the level of disrespect to just not return a teacher's pencil.

Should cover 240 more Ticonderoga pencils for your students (or you can stretch it with any other brand!) Don't know what sort of resourcing your district/school has, but I know not all have the best support. My kid is gonna be taken care of but I'll do a small bit to make sure other kids not attached to mine are too. Thank you for your service 🫡

Being a teacher myself, I wouldn't supply my students with free stuff out of my pocket if they throw it everywhere. In elementary school, okay. Their motor skills aren't completely formed and they don't notice when they drop stuff. But in middle school they know exactly what they're doing, which is not respecting stuff someone gives them.

I'm from Brasil, and here we buy about 3 or 4 pencils at the begging of the year (our school year stars and finishes within the same year) and by the end of that we'd have some left still.
I'm 28 and I still have my colored pencils from when I was 8. My mom got me a 48 colors set, which was the most iconic at that time, and I took such great care of them. Also still have some crayons, paint and brushes and I had some pens from when I was 10, but they dried out last year.
I think it's crazy how, in your couture, it's usual to buy items in bulk and waste so much of it. We buy good quality items and make sure they last as much a possible.
Things here aren't, by far, as cheap as they are in the USA, but they usually last for a long time.

Honestly, as a person who would always want to buy pencils every year even tho i have some, I was tired my 7th grade year. So I bought 3 pencils and i decided im gonna use them for the whole year. Everytime i would find a pencil on the floor in the class or school i would grab it
At the end pf the school year i had over 70 pencils, plus others people stole from me which totals around 20 maybe.

You should keep a list of people who borrow a pencil and if they don't return it in the end of the class you simply don't give them a pencil until they give you the pencil back. I don't know if that's too harsh but thats what our teacher did and everyone learnt to either return the pencil or bring/keep one of their own in their pencil case that ALWAYS STAYS in the backpack.
