After looking in the previous videos at circular and spherical greebles, finally we look at more complex surface deformations of hard surface details. This is easily achieved with the Surface Deform modifier, as long as you follow the right workflow.

Nice video, this is the method that I always use. However, it is always better to snap the plane that you are using to deform the object to the back of the object itself before you shrinkwrap it onto the target because if there is an offset between them you will not get a deformation as good and as precise as you would with no offset at all. Yet another way to get rid of potential unwanted artifacts.
God method to put written test on a curved surface as well.
I wonder if it's better triangulate faces or not in this case.

There's only one drawback to this technique : the projection follow an axis and so if you project a plane with geometry on it onto a cylinder you get big deformation on the side of the cylinder
Is there a way to avoid this or to project using normals instead of axis ? thanks

Hi sir, thank you for all Tricks and Secrets. Can you help on this ? I have a Landscape and a Train Track, i would like to allign the Landscape to the traintrack so the track has a nice ground liftet from the landscape. In UE5 the landscape has a feature where you can move nicely and achieve this by few clicks. thanks sir

Why dont we directly shrinkwrap the hard surface mesh to the curved surface rather than binding it to a plane that is shrinkwrapped to the curved surface?
