I am a young service missionary struggling with depression and anxiety, and this song has helped me so much throughout the past four or so years it’s kind of unbelievable.
Praise God for bringing peace to our souls! His church is true!❤️❤️

This song makes me remember the day my dad passed away the missionaries and the mission president sang it for us to calm our souls but to be honest it made us cry our eyes out because we loved our dad alot knowing we will not hear nor see him again on this earth but knowing and believing that we will still see each other again because of the atonement of Jesus Christ and the restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ that made us to seal for time and eternity.

Old person here planning my funeral. I want this sung at my burial site. Lyrics written over 400 years ago and still sorely needed by the world.

With such anger in my soul, I needed to hear this song today. I love the Lord so much but sometimes I'm not strong enough to put my anger in his hands.

A couple years back, I was two months into a proselyting mission, and really, seriously struggling with a stupor of thought I couldn't understand that seemed to just be getting worse. It felt like this horrible fog of depression and I was so tired of fighting to stay in the field. My companion and I were at the local branch building to watch the April 2022 conference, and she felt strongly prompted to play this song specifically for me between sessions. She then added that music wasn't a way He spoke to her, so the message must have been for me. She then proceeded to sit there in mild shock as I sobbed through the entire song. It was my James 1:5 moment- it seemed to enter with great force into every fiber of my soul. I wasn't told what to do, but I could feel God's overwhelming love for me and I knew instantly he would support me regardless of what I chose. I did end up transferring to a service mission, the stupor of thought lifted, and I think this will be my favorite hymn for the rest of my life.

I live with anxiety, with depression and with Autism. Moments of peace are… of great value to me.

One day, whether in this life or the next, I will be able to sit back, close my eyes and be at peace. Until that day, thank you, for you’ve sung for me a song I cannot sing.

This has got to be my most favored Mormon hymn. Thanks for sharing it with the masses across the Earth. Every one should really appreciate it. Bless your worship leadership.

When I feel overwhelmed, I turn to this hymn, and it brings peace to my soul. I also find comfort in reading Elder Thomas S. Monson’s talk from the April 2009 General Conference, "Be of Good Cheer." His words, "The future is as bright as your faith, " always inspire me.

I am a Mormon forever, without The saviour's Church, i can not attest my full potentialities in Live. I love Mormon Tabernacle Choir; the best of all. Their songs sooth my spiritual wounds and give me hope that my savior hears me when i cry to Him.

Be still, my soul: The Lord is on thy side;
With patience bear thy cross of grief or pain.
Leave to thy God to order and provide;
In ev’ry change he faithful will remain.
Be still, my soul: Thy best, thy heav’nly Friend
Thru thorny ways leads to a joyful end.

Be still, my soul: The hour is hast’ning on
When we shall be forever with the Lord,
When disappointment, grief, and fear are gone,
Sorrow forgot, love’s purest joys restored.
Be still, my soul: When change and tears are past,
All safe and blessed we shall meet at last.

I sang this song at my father's memorial service on Nov. 23, 2013, one month after his death at age 96. I don't know how I got through it. I was also getting sick with bronchitis, probably from the stress. After that, I practically ended up in the hospital with bronchitis and pneumonia. A fellow choir member came and stayed with me for 2 days because I was so sick. But I was determined to make it and I did.
