Had 2 kidney stones 8 months apart. One of them on Keto eating a lot of raw spinach, almond flour and sweet potatoes. Went Carnivore when I found out about it and found out about oxalates. Haven't had a kidney stone in over 18 months and I probably never will again since won't be eating any plants.

My wife and I did the South Beach Diet a few years ago and while it was great about cutting carbs/sugar, it was a heavy plant based program, and we ate a LOT of "healthy" spinach. My wife, for the first time in her life, had a horrific kidney stone issue and had to have lithotripsy and was awful. We dropped it and followed Dr. Gundry's program and felt amazing and our blood work proved it- despite a dietician saying we shouldn't. THEN we've migrated to carnivore and even at 60 and 64 respectively, my wife and I have bona fide full lipid and other test panels that look like we are in our late 20's again. The dietician refused to listen, but our primary care physicians (we each have a different one) are totally sold. Thanks to all the MD's and dietitians that ARE willing to put away the Big Ag sponsored academic textbooks and research, and go with reality.

Awesome. Thanks for sharing these little nuggets of knowledge. So little kids are totally right to not want to eat their vegetables? 😉

I decided to go vegan because my chiropractor used to talk it up. So I went high oxalate vegan and it was a disaster. I didn't get kidney stones but I had an oxalate storm in my bloodstream and it was awful! So painful! It took 2 years to get to the point whereI could use my hands and drive a car again. I had to go to a functional medicine MD who knew what it was right away! She encouraged meats, cheese and low oxalate vegetables and lettuces if I wanted them. She said I wasn't getting enough calcium... Calcium binds to the calcium oxalate and carries it out of your body! Lots of water and vinegar water.
Knowing what I know now, I would go carnivore. Thanks for posting this info doc!

I’m 63 now but started passing stones in college every three months on average. Started a Keto/Carnivore diet 2&1/2 years ago. My stone production has stopped. I’m no longer taking diabetic or gout meds. My depression and body aches have resolved.

Got my first one 3 years ago. I quit eating spinach and greens and it went away very quickly. Went ketovore/carnivore . Dr couldn't figure out how I magically achieved this and didn't believe it was the spinach.

Kidney stones twice, doc finally asked, "Are you eating a lot of spinach?" He should have asked that the first time. Because, YEAH🤦🏼‍♀️

Yes sir! I work in dialysis and the starches aka sugar cause inflammation. Then they try to meet their fiber requirement causing kidney stones. Calcium doesn’t know where to go without animal fat.

I love green, bell peppers. Dr. Gundry had video about oxalates and getting older. Thank you, Dr. Berry. Doctors are not always thorough. My nbr has stage three kidney disease. No doctor told him how to manage it. Blessings to you and your Family

We do need to consume plants, not all plants have high oxalate content. Choose the ones with less oxalate. Keep hydrate is the key with fresh lemon juice.

It’s crazy how nobody is talking about Rethinking Health Secrets. This book made me question so much when it comes to health, it has some serious knowledge

My wife has suffered with literally hundreds of kidney stones (both passed naturally and with medical intervention) for the last 25 years, and I can attest to the common advice given by dr’s.

Once you read book Rethinking Health Secrets, you can’t unsee it. The system is built to keep you in the dark, but this book turns the lights on.

I have never had one because lemon juice and apple cider vinegar will prevent them from forming. 59 years old. I love salads but not spinach. 😅
