I can’t even see IPMAN getting out of the way redirecting or blocking Bruce Lee sidekick by the time Bruce developed DJKD he had already analyze the weaknesses in the style of his former master. One of the things he discovered that the style was susceptible to boxings, faints head movement and footwork all things that he could exploit if there was ever a match. He also learned about the superiority of grappling in certain instances something that has been proven over and over again. It makes martial arts competitions. Finally, he learned to value of an unorthodox Attack this is my opinion now, but I think wing chin does fantastic against wing Chun, but runs into problems with other systems

Stop lying about ip man could defeat Bruce Lee. He only learned some basic training. But Bruce Lee learned everything else on he own. All the hard work training and dedication come from an individual, not a teacher.

Yep, in 2024 with a little martial art skill, everyone can beat Bruce Lee, the greatest fighter of all time.
How ridiculous that is.

Ip Man was in his time, awesome, really good. Still, Bruce Lee was something else, tireless, always working on betterment, always continuing to perfect martial arts, with all due respect for Ipman, I would say that everyone in his own style was the greatest.

But Wong Shun Leung famously said, " Bruce couldn't touch the old man and he could push you away with one hand and leave you smiling".

Bruce Lee in the Chinese Connection aka Fist of Fury, is still the best. Because he show all sides of himself and also fights in multiple different ways and most importantly, there is a mission and determination for him in the story.

Yes, you're right about his Wing Chun training academically but, Adam Chan of Vancouver Wing Chun said on YouTube that Wing Chun and Jeet Kune Do are designed nd backward from many other Kung Fu styles in that the first two forms of Siu Nim Tao and Chum Kiu have the best material for fighting and that the third and fourth forms of Biu Zhi and Mok Yan Jong were for recovering structure if made a mistake and began to lose in a match. Bruce had at least half of the Wing Chun System with 3 forms maybe 3 and 1/2 forms and modernized Jeet Kune Do from it with aerobics, calisthenics, stretching, yoga, weightlifting, and bodybuilding sparring and dieting, and combining it with Boxing, Fencing and in his books like Bruce Lee's Martial Arts Method and Art of Expressing The Human Body and Jeet Kune Do and also The Tao of Jeet Kune Do and Philosophy in Words of The Dragon planned to include either Aikido or Hapkido, Taekwondo, Muay Thai, and later on Guro Dan Inosanto may have added weapons from Lacremo Escrima and Pencheck Silat. It has 3 distinct eras in the US and one in British HK.

Nope. Lee was kicked out of Yipman's school... because he stood outside of Yipmans building... and told all of the students that Yipman was Sick... so that he could get a Personal One-On-One training session with Yipman. When the students discovered Lee's lies... they all Demanded that Lee be kicked out... or they would Quit. As such, Yipman sent Lee to train under a different Wing Chun teacher.

Lee was known for starting countless fights in Hong Kong (He was a reckless, irresponsible, bully.. with a bad temper control problem)... and one day, he beat up a Triad gang members son... quite badly. Its heavily assumed that Lee's parents sent him to the USA, to escape potential retribution from the Triads.

Lee would likely not have been able to land a single blow / kick on Yipman. Yipman had Far more skill, knowledge, and experience. Lee never even got to learn the advanced Leg Fencing methods of Wing Chun, which is critical to functional WC combat. Lee is most admirable for his hardcore work Ethics. He trained all throughout the entire day / night... every day. This allowed him to reach Master-Class levels of output potentials, within a few years time... rather than in Several Decades.

There were many styles of kungfu in China. With very long heritages. IP man proved himself against every other style that he faced. Which says a lot about his capability to handle anything "unexpected" that Bruce Lee could theoretically have tried against him. Wing Chun is a style that does not require strength or fitness as a core requirement. It is all about subtle technique. The inner art is the real core of the style. I suspect that Bruce could have matched or even exceeded the skill of IP Man if he had continued to train with him. He wad considered a master by western standards, but not by Wing Chun standards. He never had a better teacher after that. And he never got the experience of testing himself properly against any true kungfu madters. He died too early.

Bruce Lee learned boxing and competed in Seattle, and learned his kicks in France from Savate not Chinese and he built his stance from French fencing .. Wing Chung did not use kicks for fighting although they were used for low blocks. I have noticed since the Bruce Lee films some Wing Chung teachers have incorporated the American boxing hand strikes and the French kicks.

Ip was known as the unarmed detective as he crushed the gun of a policeman that tried to shoot him after he told the policeman not to shout on a elderly homeless man. That says something about the kungfu teachers level of respect in chinease society. The boxers are upholders of morality law and order. Ipman trained hes students according to their buildt. Clever teacher

Bruce Lee was just another poster boy for Hollywood. They labeled him as a Kung Fu god to sell movie tickets

I have read all the books written by Bruce lee. He mentioned that traditional kungfu is too restriced by the styles and not efficient in real fights. Thats why he learned karate from Chuck norris, he learned judo and taekwondo and practices Boxing too. He adopted weight training as effective way to gain strength. In the end he combined all that and invented Jeet kune do.
One thing we always forget is tha he is a bonafide British Citizen and travelled to USA on British passport.
