I started out using Paula's Choice 1.0%, and my neck went nuts with irritation. I switched to the .3% and worked my way up from there slowly. I'm now using tret and have had no issues. I truly believe it's because I slowed down and used a very low dose of retinol, allowing my skin to acclimate. I'm glad I did!!

I started with adapalene because of my hormonal acne. I've been using it for years now even though my skin already cleared up. Should I downgrade to retinol and use adapalene only when I have breakouts?

Peoples skin is crazy meanwhile here i am using tretinoin 0.5 everynight with 0 issues not even having to moisturize after if I dont want to guess im just lucky

I was using retinol for most of my life & loved it then started tretinoin for 7 mos & all my age related issues came back so I switched to retinaldehyde & love it almost all aging signs went away again. Wtf went wrong?? So many ppl love tret & I know it's supposed to be stronger...I wanted to love it.

I think this is very dependent on the person too. I don’t know if it because I am a man but I started with 5% granactive retinoid and now 1% retinol, and I literally never had a problem. I guess I got a skin it is not on the sensitive side…
