OMG no one told me to avoid the mouth area! That’s always where I start flaking the most.

Thing #4: *OMG always use SPF but especially when you use retinoids!* Like reapply much more than you're used to

Dr says: apply a pea sized amount
Dr Shereen and the rest of us: applies the entire bottle. 😂😂😂 I’m so glad she is us. ❤️❤️❤️

No. 1 should be, women TTC pregnant or are pregnant should completely avoid retinol in their skincare routine.

This is the first time I've heard you should not apply it around the mouth. And this may very well explain why my skin is overstimulated there!

Thank you I've wanted to start retinol but I have been terrified to try it in case my "face blows up" 😅

Listening to Dr I is like having a friend on the ‘inside.’ She uses correct names and terminology, explains *everything, advises clearly, and *explains *why one should or should not act in particular ways. Love, love, love her posts!

Retinol must be always used at night, never during the day. And when you wake up, you must thoroughly wash ur face, and sunscreen is a must... And perhaps a good wide hat.

You have just changed my life! I’ve been using half that amount because I thought anymore than that would make my skin worse, but the retinol I use hasn’t been making a difference😭 Thank you for this video!! 💖💖

I’m so lucky that I have never experienced any sensitivity to retinoids! I always use it around my mouth too (bc I’m so desperate for help in that area!) but zero side effects so I’m really happy about that!!

I started using retinol on your recommendation and it was the best decision ever.

I started using retinol 2 and a half months back based on your recommendation and must say that it is the best decision I have ever made for my skin.. I am a fairly new nerd in your community doc 😊 but have watched all your videos (LITERALLY)
May I know which brand are you using here Dr. Idriss?

So if we avoid eye area and mouth area, how does it take care of wrinkles in those areas 🤔
Also, can you please do an anti-aging routine for moms who are nursing and their family is not complete yet ?

The product being used is Skin Rocks Retinoid 1(or maybe she's using 2)- Vitamin A Face Serum

I went to University of Pennsylvania Dermatology about a month ago. While getting my skin cancer screen, I asked about getting Retinol for fine lines and wrinkles. HE said There was no point in doing it if I hadn't started when I was 20 and that if I had started at 20 by the time I was 50 I would look about 3 years younger.. he strongly discouraged me and said there was no evidence that it actually helped

I started with retinal palmitate combined with glycolic acid and it is a miracle for my face, pores clean and refined, smooooth texture and 0 acne

My skin used to be really weird. I had oily patches (prone to acne) but also really dry flaky patches (with fine lines) that didn't seem to follow any rule. I'm using a serum that has 0.3% retinol and 2% vitamin E, and a chamomile hydrating cream for sensitive skin. I am mostly indoors but use sunscreen when I leave the house. That's the best skincare I've ever had. Retinol + Vit E together are amazing. I've been using this combo for about a year, my acne has reduced significantly, I can no longer see the fine lines, my skin is even, I have no more flaking, and I think some of the acne scars are fading as well.
