How a Dermatologist Applies a Retinoid or Retinol | #SHORTS

There really are so many different ways to apply a retinoid. This is how I apply mine! The amount of product you use does make a difference and I would use the same amount whether I was treating acne or addressing aging concerns (pretty amazing that tretinoin helps with both!).

Honestly, I JUST realized in the last 2 weeks that for the last 3 years, my “pea” has been WAY TOO small! I decided to put more on the other night just to see what would happen and I tell you, I was shook at the visible difference in my skin the next morning (a positive difference!). I’m trying to keep it up, but I’m so used to the small pea that it’s hard to force the bigger pea… but when I do, my skin honestly looks better in the morning! I totally agree with you that many of us are confused about the size of a pea, and what a tragedy that is!! 😂😅

My my pea sized amount it about half yours or even a bit less lol cuz I’m using a gel version of tazarotene 0.1% so it’s kinda potent but it’s enough to cover entire face (excluding beard and mouth area cuz am male)

I also used to get confuse on pea size. Now i also take as much as i need without ruding too much on skin also don't put to much too.

The amount on your noise is a " pea size".In addition for the viewers applying Tretinoin near your eyes, corners of your mouth, close to your lips and under your noise, and neck is strongly discouraged. The aforementioned areas are highly sensitive to Tretinoin and can readily peal, burn and cause redness. These adverse reactions can be mitigated by first applying a moisturizer to those sensitive areas prior to applying tretinoin if you choose to apply it. Lastly a patient can tolerate applying Tretinoin on sensitive areas after the face has acclimated to the medication with one exception, however placing it near the eyes should be avoided. Blessings

What do you cleanse with at night. After showering how long do you wait to apply tret and how long after applying tret do you moisturise??? These would be helpful and what moisturiser

Problem for me is that I have a pretty thick beard. It’s not crazy long but I’m worried it’s not spreading in under the beard. Is it ok to use more?
