Some of the electric ones have a wind button that runs it in reverse so no twisting required. I still love my gas trimmer though. Battery power still has a lot of improvements needed but the winding feature is something I will want when they get there.

Only with speed feed .. put the head up to the sun and look through the string hole for light so you can put the string through wind the head as you do this . .. pull line through grab both ends of the line slowly lead your head drop as you hold the line up from the ends while head is straight on the floor. then pull on the string to pick the whip of the floor once both sides are the same size and wind the head till about a hands length worth is out from each side .. oh and the ideal universal string length is normally 2 1/2 full open arms length across the up half of your body . Loppers are great for cutting the string too .. clippers and razors blades are inconsistent and dangerous

Sometimes when the string pops it throws off the alignment of the spool and you have to twist the head clockwise until you can see directly through the eyelet holes or this is never going to work perfectly. Always check before threading your line. Never load too much at a time either or your line will get twisted up inside. Pro tips.
