I'm really glad Ryobi posted this video, because I was staring at the head on my trimmer and scratching my chin wondering what to do. The video makes it pretty clear, but I had to take my head apart to feed the string through all the holes.

Works perfectly on my Ryobi Model RY253SSVNM Gas weed eater!!! Of course I had to try to do it the hard way the 1st time!

Ryobi just keeps crushing it! They keep coming up with great ideas for their product line.

Pretty cool. As usual, Ryobi does some great innovation.

Somewhere to store the crank wheel on the trimmer as well as wome extra precut line would be useful instead of having to keep it all in my pockets.

How do you get the line to feed out? I can only make it feed out if i bash it on the cement with the head spinning (cant do it in the grass or ill have a 1 foot circle of no grass) or by holding the head on the ground with the head spinning and thrusting it down 4-6 times. (which causes alot of wear on the knob i imagine)

Hopefully you can still crank by hand. I found the crank, reel-easy to lose :-/ As for the Full Crank engine design, it's light years ahead of the first gen 2 strokes, I love how it runs.

Box says cut 10 feet line, attached sticker says 18 feet line, video says 16 feet line..😂😂😂

I got it following Youtube and written instructions. When cranking the line into the spool, was it smooth winding, or did it make a noise? Mine did the latter. Anyone care to help me ... PLEASE????

If when you're using the reel nothing happens then try to note the tiny hole you're actually putting it in, not the two holes you see on the outside of the cylindrical thingy but the two holes that also have a gradual groove leading up to it (must take apart to see what I'm talking about). The string isn't going around the cylindrical inner part. Idk the names of these things....sorry

What happens if the line breaks and the line falls inside the head? Do you need to pull it apart to get it out again?

When I push the line through the trimmer head but it doesn't come out the other side so now what?

when the line you buy is curled up and STAYS curled up when you cut it - it simply does NOT work as depicted.
