After all these years I had no idea my head needed to be greased. Thanks for the demonstration!

Im older and I always used line replacement time to take a sit down break with a cold ice tea, a smoke and too refeed some more line. Now the mrs who loves to watch me work, says, I bought you the speed feed so it would help you get done faster, but it still takes you the same amount of time to finish as the old head. I said... Oh....I thought you got the speed feed so I could enjoy more of my breaks... Besides I can't fill it with my hands full.... Raising tea in one hand and a smoke in the other, with a big smile on my face! Lol

This film is 3 years old but I just watched it. I put this head on my Husqvarna and I’m going to put one on my Stihl!. I hate spending money on something I have that works, but this head is all that and a bag of chips!
Thanks for all you do.

I grew up with a father who could fix anything under the sun, and by osmosis i'm now that person. Having said that, I never watch your videos without learning something. Thanks and keep up the great content! btw; i ordered the trimmer head you recommend and it works like a dream. I used it several hours today without one hitch. thanks again!

If you want to make that speed feed head last 100 times longer, drill a small hole in the center of the bump button and install a small bolt and flat washer from the outside with a lock nut on the inside of the bump button. no more plastic contacting ground.

I'm a recently retired middle school Science teacher. You present things clearly, and the pace is well-managed. Well-done vid.

Thank you for a very informative video. Love your channel and by the way, it’s so nice to see someone working and not wearing gloves all the time. If your hands get dirty-that’s what soap and water are for. From an old school guy. Just saying.

The only time I have ever grinned while putting line on a spool. Great product - thanks for the recommendation!

I need to brag on you a little. After your recommendation about the battery booster starter unit I purchased one. Went to our fire department for a meeting and the tanker wouldn’t start or even crank it has 4 batteries in it. The battery charger wouldn’t charge it enough to crank. I hooked up the battery booster you recommended and the truck started right up. The chief told me to get one for the FD. Thank you so much for your recommendation.

Just installed the 500 version on my Sthil 110R with .105 round line. What a beast this thing has become now. Easily bumps new line out and the ease of installing new line well... That is something I wish had 20 years ago. Thank you!!!

You know what amuses me is, I always run out of line at the start of the job, never at the end. Every single time! I just get started, get into the groove, make my way along one fence line and boom, line's gone! No drama anymore with the speedfeed though. Whoever invented these is a damn genius. Love them. Great tip from another viewer about putting the bolt through the centre of the cap to make it last longer too.

Really enjoying the channel, it's so cool to see a chick(anic) getting into it and getting her hands dirty. I have to say, as good a mechanics as they are, you're much easier on the eye than Steve or Don too, especially when you smile.... sorry fellas lol! Subscribed!

👍I hate messing with trimmer heads. I can't believe the Speedfeed is so simple to load up with string.

Bre, your videos are very informative and much appreciated. I've been using your tutorials for some time. Today I replaced the trimmer head on my Stihl FS55 with the Speed Feed 400. Works like a charm. Inscrutable instructions came with the head. I couldn't have easily installed it without following your video. You are knowledgeable and a highly effective communicator. Thanks much!

Thanks for turning me on to this amazing trimmer speed head. Works flawlessly and eliminates the frustration of winding new line onto a spool. I'm a big fan of all your videos and have recommended you to friends and neighbors.

You are awesome! I am an older woman and feel challenged when it comes to mechanical things...not sure why, but...I am so very glad to have found your channel. If I can somehow manage the “strength” end of things, I believe you can give me the “know-how”. Thank you so much for presenting these videos. I now need to find something understandable about how to build and install a 60 ft minimum tower in order to be able to get internet services to my property....so I can watch videos from where I am trying to make a little “home”. Thank you again!

Just got the 400 installed on the old Stihl FS85 thanks to Chickanic! Also greased the gearbox for likely the first time! Running great and so simple to change line!

Thank you so much for this video. I have a Stihl straight shaft trimmer and bought the Speed Feed 400 for it. I watched at least four different videos about how to install the SF 400 on the Stihl. None of them were specific on the “black” vs “white” insert or the “green” vs “gold” arbor or the “L” vs “R” orientation of the spool, so all summer I had difficulty getting the line to feed. I thought I was going to prematurely destroy the cap - trying to get it to feed. I saw you video and it turned out that I had the “white” insert in place with the “green” arbor and the spool was oriented with the “R” away from the head. WRONG! I took it apart and followed your video. Now the. SF 400 works like a dream. Again, thank you so much! You are a real asset to us unskilled homeowner types.

I'm so glad I stumbled on this video.

A couple of years ago, a customer gave me his Shindaiwa 22T, saying he couldn't get it started & I could have it if I wanted. I brought it home & discovered that the piston was broken. Bought a new piston & jug for $35.00, & fixed it right up.

It didn't come with any paperwork, so I had no idea how to maintain the gearbox, so I'm sure it's dry on grease. Along with the fact that the string head that came with the unit, I have to cut string about 14" long & feed them into the head, what a pain. I'm using the .095 string, & they usually fly out of the head. So, the speed feed is going to be my next upgrade.

Ohh, and I agree the 22T is the bomb. Love it.
