Need Hamstring Stretches? This Is MUCH Better

In this video, I introduce a game-changing technique - compression strength antagonist muscle contractions. Specifically, we focus on seated pike compression lifts, a fantastic exercise for strengthening and enhancing flexibility in your hamstrings and hip flexors.

I'll guide you through the process, from positioning yourself on the floor with straight legs and pointed toes, to the precise forward reach and leg lift movements. We'll work through ten reps, each focusing on keeping your knees straight and quads tensed, then transition into a sustained ten-second lift, all while working hard in your end range.

The secret sauce here is the end-range contraction in the hip flexors, which effectively helps your nervous system understand how to relax the hamstrings, boosting your overall flexibility.

This approach to stretching, incorporating end-range antagonist contractions, is about retraining the nervous system to temper the inhibitors that restrict your flexibility. Try out this exercise, and then test your hamstring flexibility - you may be pleasantly surprised by the results!

💡Are you a 35-45 family orientated man who's trained for 12+ months and wants better flexibility without sacrificing strength?

The UMS app reinvents physical exercise to produce superior strength, flexibility and fitness results (in half the time it would typically take), so you perform better in things like calisthenics, weightlifting, MMA and yoga

This guy will give you exercises that develop mobility, not just strength and flexibility. You need mobility so you don't injure yourself if you do physical work.

i don't understand the point of JUST filming an expert doing your exercise. see it so much on fitness youtube. great to have a vision of what an adept execution of the exercise looks like, but i look at that and think it's beyond me to even start. I do think there's scope to adapt it to a beginner with low flexibility, but until you showcase it i think the usefulness of at least this video is as limited as those examples found in corners of exercise-youtube where it's pure 'look how good i am' disguised as advice that could never actually be transferred to a prospective newbie. (to be clear i also have watched a fair bit of your content and think you have great advice, just maybe a lot of it is aimed at someone who's got a higher baseline of strength/flexibility etc. than myself)

I have never felt so foolish or so weak doing an exercise.
