Edit : for those wondering, she just has tight hamstrings as I suspected, she never done sports and has insanely flexible hips being from south east Asia and she said grew up squatting down a lot. So she obviously never needed to use them as much. We’re making progress. 😊

I had this problem since I was a kid, and I came across a video that explained it, I found that nerve flossing and deadlifting both helped a lot. 6 months later I can touch my toes for the first time in my life

I've always struggled to touch my toes, no matter how much I stretch. I started training glutes for the first time, then I could touch the bottom of my foot within 3 days.

In all fairness in the after, he bent his knees way more to reach the floor, not saying it didn’t work but probably could’ve gotta gotten a fairer after shot

This is my exact problem. I feel my nerves pull much before my hamstrings get tight. Nerve glides barely helped. I'll follow the advice given in this video.

It likely wasn’t the neural tension you’re describing, it was the glute and core activation that caused him hamstrings to stop compensating. (Neural tension usually exists in a radiculopathy type pattern, and likely isn’t bilateral.) re-do the test with hip hinges, bridges etc. and re-test… you likely would have got the same result 👍

Roughly 15% of people have their ass coatic nerve running through the piriformis. Underdeveloped hip muscles can also cause sciatic irritation because of this.

Edit, just saw the typo here, ass coatic should be sciatic, but I think "ass coatic" is weirdly more descriptive.

Omg i just touched my toes for the first time in over a decade just from doing this, thank you so much! I spent several years in a wheelchair because of severe epilepsy as a child but this is truly life changing!
