Current Biology pre-medicine major here.
This is accurate for the people going to pre-vet. All pre-med students HATE the courses because the first 13 weeks of class we spend talking about fucking plant systems instead of actual human biology

My cousin got a really great biology research position post grad, really prestigious. 6 months in she realized she wanted to work more with children, and now is a very happy biology teacher. Its not just a last resort, it can be where someone is best situated.

My son is a wildlife biology major, not sure how different that is but his job plan is wildlife manager - also known in some places as a Game Warden. Nature, animals, conservation, and law enforcement in one job!

I took AP Bio and that's the only reason I understood the UGA joke but its suuuuch a perfect joke because it's just niche enough for people to feel kinda special for getting it, but it makes enough sense/enough people know it for it to reach a fairly broad audience.
