*4hr homework a day* would give you the lowest tier college in China, korea, india.
Like kids studying 12-13 hrs per day are not able to get the top colleges.😭

Well the amount of hours you study does not equivalent with your intellect. If you study 4 hours with pure focus that is already better than 10-12 hours of rapid and burned out studying.

A lot of people are commenting "I study more when I am in exams" but they are not considering:
1. Not everybody gets the same returns of a study session, some people are just really smart
2. Good students study consistently, EVEN WHEN EXAMS ARE FAR AWAY. Spaced repetition is the study method that is the most supported by science.
When it comes to studying, it is much more important to be efficient in your study sessions and consistent along time than being busy.

Bruh, can’t people read? She said ‘doing homework 4h per day’, not studying 4h per day. She probably did more study after doing her homework. Plus she definitely studied effectively, or else how did she managed to get into Harvard? While some guys here are bragging about how much they study 😂

To reason US colleges are preferred to any other colleges, is the emphasis it places on critical thinking and lateral thinking. In that sense, their top schools and colleges are similar to top schools and colleges in Singapore - the focus on cultural exchange, critical thinking, lateral thinking and turning ideas into money fast.

Yall don’t realize that these colleges look for more than just studying. They want well rounded students who are also academically great. This means you should have a job to show responsibility, volunteer to show service, start an organization or business to show initiative, AND study for all your exams and courses. In America they don’t view your test performance as intellect but your ability to think creatively and apply your knowledge. And they don’t just want intelligent people, they want socially conscious, forward thinkers. So four hours of studying isn’t just four hours. It’s wake up at 5 and swim for the team. Go to school till two. Host a club meeting till 3. Go to work for three hours (minimum usually). Now it’s 6. Volunteer for an hour. It’s 7. Plan your club meetings (you gotta be an officer of at least 2!) and work on whatever project you have then (a technology competition, a business plan, a news article, a debate case, etc.) By now it’s 9. THEN you do your homework for four hours…

As an asian, so embarrassed to say most of the dumb comments here scream jealousy. It's quality that matters. And she's absolutely intelligent.

All these idiots in the comments are yapping about how they're studying 7-13 hours a day, when they don't realize that a successful Harvard student like her probably spent her time worrying about extracurriculars, awards, and workforce development, rather than slaving away at a textbook trying to get an A in a class that won't matter in 5 years.
