I think the biggest takeaway from this is to REMEMBER to really wipe off the oil from the fork and shock. Otherwise your just asking for dirt and grit to come right back.

This is great stuff. You need to upload more content as you make everything so easy and clear to understand! Thanks!

As a mechanic myself, that's spot on, nailed it on all the important topics and even the vital tips at the end, nice!
I like how you wiped off your suspension even though your bike was dirty, clean suspension is more impartant than tho whole bike being clean, that should speak out to some people that are scared to touch their bikes!

Thank for your being clear and concise. I asked a self proclaimed pro DH mechanic what type to use and he told me go to my LBS instead of sharing what type of product.

If you are in auss do you need to store your bike upside down?

Nice! I'm about to rebuild my fork for the first time and these are great tips to keep it feeling fresh until it needs rebuilt again. Thanks!

I always spray a tiny bit of teflon based lub on the stanchions to clean them, work pretty well and after it helps seals to wipe the stanchions from dust or mud during the ride.
Putting the bike at reverse will let air bubbles in the brake circuit go to the calipers. Which means that you will have to bleed more often (calipers are also more difficult to bleed than levers !). It is better to just put/hang the bike at the vertical and it will work fine

I use WPL religiously. Love it so much! Makes my forks and dropper smooth as butter.

Hi,
That's exactly what I have been doing for years. And never had problem with my suspensions. I would also recommend oiling the commands or remote lock mechanism as they tend to collect dirt and become stiff

This is hands down the best MTB tech channel on the internet! Real life information for real-life mountain bikers. Will definitely make sure to stop by next time I am in Bellingham.

As a former aircraft engineer I would say this is the basics, keep any Stanchion clean always and lube them with something appropriate, the liquid used inside the Forks should do it as well

Watched this vid then ordered straight away and now tried on 4 different bikes and works fantastically just as you described .

I do this with chain lube on my coil fork since 2018. It removes dirt from inside and makes it feel like new. No issues then 🤘

I picked up a sample bottle of this at the Southern Enduro tour. I'm looking forward to checking it out.

Thanks, Mike, for introducing me to this WPL ForkBoost Lube. Truly great stuff (from multiple aspects - bio-based/env-friendly & quality/performance), and I'm completely sold. Though initially skeptical, now I use it religiously, almost as often as lubing my chain regularly for every ride. This stuff is really great, most noticeably on dropper post (then on fork, then on shock), in terms of feeling butterly-smooth. While at it, I also picked up WPL suspension oil (20wt) - also great stuff. Thanks!

I was told that the best thing to lube your stanchions with was fork oil. Anything else will seep through the seal and contaminate the oil in your fork.

I also use fork oil or silicone spray when doing this.
