3ds Max has been known for being a leading 3d package when it comes to adding new features and tools that help 3d artists and studios to get their job done. but unfortunately in the last decade, we did not see a lot of things that can be considered worthwhile until a couple of years ago. in this video, we are going to go through the most important features that have been added to 3ds Max in addition to that we are going to discuss powerful tools potentially coming to 3ds max in the next few releases.

Honestly, If you're a longtime 3ds Max user & you want to switch to other 3D software it feels like quitting your daily dose of tea or coffee nothing can replace 3ds Max for me I feel comfortable & adapted to it, maybe this is just me.

2 things blender needs: 1: A good fracture add-on and 2: A good crowd-simulation plug-in

I never hated 3ds Max or Maya. The problem is Autodesk itself.

I tried Blender, did a few courses... It's nice but will be a while until I'm as quick as I am in max but to be honest I'm very optimistic at where it's going now. People who "get" the max workflow understand how powerful it is. 2021 has been so stable for me, very good release! Excited for the future of max.

Arnold does not really have real-time rendering, it's just active shade that you're talking about, which is not really the same thing as Eevee. It's nice that Arnold is more supported with Active Shader and OSL can be used to make your viewport look pretty good.
I've continued to feel the opposite to be honest, it feels like Blender and Houdini are redefining things in the right directions, and Max is trying to figure out where it can still find its audience. What is great is that Autodesk is under pressure to improve these tools, as their juggernaut status is a lot less powerful than it used to be. Blender, Maxon and SideFX are taking more and more people away from 3Ds and Maya every year.
When they released the new Render to Texture feature set I had very mixed feelings. It is WAY overly complicated for what it does compared to external mesh map baking tools like Substance, Marmoset, Mari, and xNormal. It was kind of shocking that we got these features to begin with, because probably everyone was baking textures in texture authoring software already anyway, and they probably won't ever think about using 3DsMax to do it even with these new features, because it doesn't make sense to. Why would I want to bake in max, and then load up my mesh maps in Substance before painting, instead of just baking them in Substance. I have to go to substance anyway, so what's the point? It seems to me that Substance does a better job of it anyway, despite these new features. It was extremely puzzling that a simpler UI was not packaged with this new robust redesign of render to texture. Instead, we have a great system without a great user experience, meaning that unless you're capable of writing your own tool, you'll probably want to buy or download someone else's. This kind of thing is kind of part of the 3DsMax code it seems, make good systems, and leave it to the users to make the great tools. Don't get me wrong I love max and use it everyday, but I think the devs need more consultation with artists and user experience experts to make these updated features feel better.

Oh i see.. The Hashirama face on the left chest represents 3dsMax users(being used by the autodesk) and Madara is the never changing sins of the firm.. :)

*IN ORDER FOR 3DS MAX TO COME BACK ON TOP ...*
AutoDesk would have to do a ton of code rewriting to (1) fix bugs and crashes (2) reduce install size and (3) add features that you can now find in free 3D software. The question now is this ... Is AutoDesk willing to go through all of that?

Little too late, I have abandoned Max. In my search for something better, Blender turned out a thing I was looking for all these years. It is amazing and free
