Max Damage Loadouts in Terraria

preview_player
Показать описание
In today's video, we take a look at the max damage loadout for each class and then compare them to see which is the best. I'm aware of ways to reach insanely high damage through utilizing elaborate setups to the point where you can kill bosses in 1 tick, but this video won't cover those. Instead, we will be taking a look at every single way to boost damage for each class and to see how much damage we can achieve. I should also mention that we will be looking at general dps rather than specific interactions. For example, the Stake Launcher when used against vampires offers a huge damage boost, but it's only against the one enemy. Interactions like that will not be covered in this video. If you would like to see more videos like these then be sure to let me know in the comments, thanks for watching!

I like how the Mage in Endgame isn’t even referred to as “Mage”, it has basically turned to “The Last Prism set”

Summoner: "No its Stardust, it even gives me a guard!"
Melee: "Bug boi."

Another thing about the summon build: unless you're doing a class restriction challenge, nothing is stopping you from just blasting shit on your own with guns and putting on some gunner gear or security/agility items. That's the magical part of summoner, the minions kick a lot of ass but so can you.

Summoner: For those who prioritize assistance rather than attacking
Mage: For those who love seeing the boss health bar sink
Ranger: For those who loves the feeling of satisfaction with guaranteed crits.
Melee: For the brainless who want to deal a lot of damage (Me)

Just in terms of damage, everyone should summon and no one should be a summoner.

But objective math cannot overcome my laziness and love of minion swarms

You are absolutely right, statistically speaking, about the lucky v. menacing matter. They are identical (given enough trials).
With a single menacing item, the expected value of damage is, well, 104% of the original.
With one lucky item, the expected value can be taken as the sum of all outcomes multiplied by their respective probabilities.
Thus...
(96% of the time x 100% damage) + (4% of the time x 200% damage) = (.96 x 1) + (.04 x 2) = 104%

Fun fact, increased damage generally increases dps more than increased crit because of how defense works. Increased crit will always increase your damage output by the percentage of crit boast, but damage buffs can actually increase your dps more than the listed percent. Let's say you were playing in normal mode with all menacing accessories, using a weapon that has 100 base damage against an enemy with 40 defense, with no other boasts. 100 times 1.2 is 120, minus half the defense is 100. This means that the weapon is effectively dealing 100 average damage before crit with menacing as opposed to 80 damage without menacing. Instead of boasting your damage output by 20%, menacing has boasted your damage output by 25%.

I kinda want to see a “class maximum damage with class weakest weapon” like mage with the wand of sparking or summoner with the Finch staff

0:55 Summoner
5:50 Mage
9:40 Ranger
13:25 Melee

Try redoing this with the new 1.4 update, especially since the Melee class gets the Zenith and the Summoner class also gets whips so more damage can be tacked on

I think you could have increased the summoning damage by equipping accessories like the papyrus scarab after removing the avenger emblem, destroyer emblem, and celestial shell to increase the maximum number of minions/ segments of the stardust dragon

There are a few things I’d like to mention here as I feel like a lot of you will have questions about these things.

**CORRECTIONS**
Summoner:
Use Papyrus Scarab instead of Destroyer Emblem.

You can also summon the minions with max damage gear on, and then switch to gear that adds minion slots afterwards (because the summon should retain the original damage it was summoned with), Summoner should be able to get a massive boost in damage by doing this.

First of all, technically feral bite could have been applied to every class, but I didn’t want to include it because of how much of a hassle it would be to maintain the buff for the other classes.

Nebula attack boosters could have also been used for the other classes, however, it involves switching armor sets every few seconds so I decided not to include it.

Lastly, the shrimpy truffle could have been used for the melee loadout, but you lose out on 2% extra crit, 5% extra melee damage, and 5% extra melee speed in exchange for the 15% damage. I tested this with and without the mount and found that Meowmere doesn’t see much of a change in damage either way, but the Terrarian and Solar Eruption found damage boosts (+200-300).

Let me know if there are ways to better any of the loadouts, I'll do my best to update this comment to include any of the changes that I may have missed.

I like how the Destoryer Emblem is being used on a summoner where crits don’t matter and you could have the Papyrus Scarab for yet another minion and even more damage.

Nice vid. Note though, that ranged single target crown probably belongs to the coin gun with platinum coins. For those claiming it's unfeasible to have enough of plat, - this is not true. All you need is a good farm. In single player, you can reach 50+ plat per hour, while in multiplayer I was able to break 100/hr. That means that leaving your farm running for a single day will easily net over 1k. I usually leave my farm running overnight and get an extra 1k by morning. That is way easier than farming luminite or chlorophyte for SDMG. I'm yet to run out of plat, having at least 20k+ any given day. Oh, and you can easily switch from offensive to regen/tank gear, so that you don't die even in Expert and never lose your coins.

So Mage is best at Multi-Target DPS while Ranger is best Single-Target DPS.
