Magic Lantern was not a company. It was a sort of loose consortium of hackers/programmers who viewed this camera as a fun project.

I have had this camera for the past 6 years, it’s such a nifty thing and packed with features. You’ll need to form a workflow and editing process and you’ll be surprised what this can do

Magic Lantern itself is the solid proof of the "Canon cripple hammer" conspiracy. It's amazing how majority of Canon cameras can gain impressive features through hack firmware.

This should be a wakeup call for camera companies to open source their firmware. Imagine the value add of being able to customize your camera's firmware to meet fit your needs and shooting style!

why do reviews like these never show actually adequate footage to check the camera's limits? all of it was overblown midday sun with almost no color and no model in frame. duh.

I love how blown away you are with all the extra features the hack brings to that camera, it just adds a new lease of life to them. Zeek has some awesome vids on magic lantern. He's a total guru on it.

Back when I was shooting with Canon, now I'm with Sony and Fuji-film, Magic Lantern was a necessarily addition to all of my cameras, the Canon 6D and Canon 70D greatly improved in both function and quality output with this software, and being able to play a lite version of breakout between photo session on the go was a nice perk too!

This is really cool! Camera companies today are focusing way too hard on how much resolution they can get out of their cameras when when they could focus on making their lower res video specs way better in terms of bit/color depth

I remember downloading ML on my Canon t3i when I was in highschool to unlock the focus peaking feature, glad to see that the firmware is still relevant! I've always hated canon for locking in features that the camera is clearly capable of doing...

Would have liked to have seen more urban areas with more colors. Hopefully you'll get a chance to do another video with these features.

I bought this camera on a whim at WalMart I think around when it first came out. I used it mostly for smaller things, but never would I understand what this little camera is actually capable of until recently.

Great video! It would be nice to see some footage of a more vibrant setting as well just to see some more colors. The forest shots kinda blended into each other. Some poppy city footage would be really cool to see with more people and city life things going on. It’s amazing that the camera can be pushed like this when the right people go at it :) subscribed.

It reminds me of the Sigma FP. Tiny body, few buttons, and records 12 bit RAW.

I loved this camera, actually a video I made with it 3 years ago won in a video festival (UN plural+), it looked pretty good, specially for the actual price of the camera.

DUDE! Great rig!
I'm loving this little cine-beast! Exclusively shoot in 2.8k & 5k. I've been uploading Sakura cinematic videos recently and have more to come.
