I have 3 C100mkii's, all bought second hand, and use them for artist interviews, coverage of art events, coverage of music events (opera, big band, orchestra, soloists and more)...I love the ease of use, reliability, battery life, XLR inputs with good pre-amps and picture quality...file sizes are low for the quality of image produced which makes it good for longer event shooting

Just sold 3 of them. They were my workhorses for years and built my business. Only upgraded for 4K and 6K cameras with 4:2:2. and higher bitrates. They were such amazing cameras. Great video

Great video - I'm part of the C100 M2 cult and I still shoot with it - small, gradable files, insane battery life, decent autofocus, dual card slots, decent EVF, built in XLR audio, NDs!!! If they had made the C100 M3 4.2.2 10 bit 4K they would have sold a million of them. You nailed it on the exposure comment - the C100 codec is unforgiving on underexposure - especially in the shadows. I agree shoot native 850 ISO whenever possible, but I feel it's decent up to 10, 000 ISO, Also I personally prefer to shoot wideDR because I honestly feel this early CLOG sucks - Canon has come a long way since. Thanks for the grading tips! The camera is still great for long events, presentations, concerts etc. Hard not to love this ancient, reliable workhorse.

When I worked on set of a popular tv show in my region, this was the camera that they had on A and B. Fantastic especially for how versatile it is

The C100 is definitely one the most film-like digital cameras out there. I was stunned the first time I rented one years ago. No film look filters needed in edit. Now you've got me thinking I should buy a couple more.

My first ever camera back in 2016! Went onto 10bit and 16 bit 4k/6k as the times have changed but this camera is a beast for its time and still relevant for many things. image considering its specs is great.

Dude, I watched your video this morning and just picked up one this afternoon. It came with a canon 18-135mm f3.5-5.6. Man I stocked!

My previous camera was the C100 mkI and it was so amazing. I filmed a 52min documentary with it and it was the most pratical camera I've got. The quality is amazing and the super 35mm is very nice for cinema lovers ! Damn, I miss it...

I remember wanting this so bad when it was new but I couldn't afford it. Many years later I'm considering picking it up just to have a play with it and satisfy the curiosity that is still buzzing in my mind.

I run both a MK1 and MK2 C100's with a Canon E 24-105 F4 L IS and Canon EFS 17-55 F2.8 (along with my GH5 as a 'floating camera') and they are still absolute beasts! The picture out of them in LOG is very, very gradeable and has a nice creamy quality to it. Plus if you upscale to 4K using Topoaz Video Ai its insane.

Shot my indie feature on this with an Anamorphic Lens. Not an ARRI or Red, but it definitely has a cinema feel to it. The ND filter is a game changer. For those on a budget, get this camera. Hell, if you have to shoot on your phone, get it done. Hollywood is not coming and knocking on your door. Thanks for the review.

I used that camera mid 2000s, loved it. I think when people say they like the 'canon colors' they are talking about the c100.

I use the c100 m1 and m2 at work when we're hired for interviews or small events. I absolutely love them so much. Small data sizes, internal NDs, and the great image makes this the perfect run-and-gun camera set up for people wanting to enter the cinema camera world. Canon made some really great and under appreciated tech, honestly.

Great video! I remember the day the C100 was released to market and how big of a deal that actually was at the time. I think today we now look at the Sony FX3 in somewhat of a similar light.

At the end of the day I want to make money and now blow it on expensive gear / hard drives. This camera is a workhorse and if you’re delivering to the web, there are no real compromises.

Still stporting a C100 MK I as my B camera. It's amazing how well it holds up next to me C70, especially when there's enough light...
One thing you did not mention is the amazing built-in microphones in the top handle.
The built in stereo condensor mics are some of the best anyone has ever put inside of a camera...

Woah! I love everything about this, the form factor, the battery life, the XLR, the NDs, and especially the price! I'm definitely going to look for one of these! Great video... Thank you!

I own one. Used it for long form events. Love the image it produces. The preamps of the C100 is also really good.
