Timing is everything hey! I posted this right around when this camera's successor (the X100V) became very difficult to find. As a result, this has forced the price of the X100F on the used market to skyrocket...

* Since he didn't mention it, I looked it up and the price goes from 1, 200-1, 500$ *

I like the artistic use of word “cheap” at the beginning

If you guys saw the price tag, here’s an alternate recommendation that will cost you half the price: Fujifilm XE-2 with a Fujifilm XC 35mm lens - This kit produces very solid, film-like images, albeit with an older sensor, at a fraction of the price. I’ve had my XE-2s for two years now and it’s my favorite general purpose/ travel/ street camera.

Affordable ≠ “Cheap”

Enthusiast ≠ “Beginner”

The successor to the X100F is the X100v, which is THE hardest to find camera out right now. As a result, the X100F is going up in the used market precisely because people are sick and tired of waiting for the new one.

Everyone says "pretty cheap" no one says the price. Thank you comment section for informing me of the price so I didn't waste my time googling it 😂

If you want something similar but MUCH cheaper (around 500) I’d recommend something like the xt20. Very good quality still

All 6 of the X100s are great but these and the X-Pro series hold their value ridiculously well, even the first generation models go for $500+ generally, and the are are well used 13 year old cameras!

If you guys still looking for a fuji after checking the price of the X100F
Go check the rest of the x100 series
Or the X-M and X-E series (but keep in mind this two are usually sold without a lense)

X-A series are way cheaper but I'm not sure if they have the film simulation mode

Also, never tried one before, but I've heard that Micro4/3 cameras can also achieve that grainy vintage look

Those prices made me take a look at Nikon’s Zf and Zfc. I loved them so much I bought them both instead.

The results look surprisingly good. That being said... I absolutely hate built in effects. If I'm using DSLR I much rather use RAW and edit in post.

Thanks to videos like this, the prices of all X100 variants are not "pretty cheap" .... If you want something cheap, the the XE-1, XE-2 or XM-1 and a XC 18mm f2 is are great value.

You can get the same form factor and look from the Fujifilm XE4 which cost way less

It's a great camera, but definitely NOT cheap! My first camera - Canon 60D was around $750 when I bought it 12 year ago. Even that wasn't cheap!

If you get the original X100 or the second one, the X100S you can get a really good deal.

I recently sold my X100F bought in Feb 2019 for more than what I had then paid for it.
