The boots walking over the glass was one of the best shots I’ve seen in a while. Everything you said is understandable but, you should definitely shine light on the creativity. With some color correction, I’d have to put my vote for Josh. All he needed was to focus on the boots a little more and to brighten some shit up.

Josh is gonna do amazing things if he continues. How he utilized what he had, the mountains, the glass on the ground... If he combines that ability to strategically utilize existing environment with the "math" and the fine tuning experience, he'll be one to reckon with

The key is editing, apparently. The editing in second one was better thus commercial was better.

I love Josh's style more. Even though he is called a rookie he has natural artistic talent. Like I lived his more then the vet :) with some more practice you can make some pretty amazing g stuff Josh! Keep it up

I’m impressed with this video. It cuts down to the real deal: skill is worth money. Period. Keep practicing Josh! I’m excited to see you keep growing! And i think you’ve got an extremely good coach there

Josh was really good for a rookie. Like many others have mentioned, I also really liked the shot he captured with the glass! I think it’s worth noting how it was probably the first time he shot with a RED camera, so he may not have been comfortable yet. Meanwhile, Jake being a professional, he most likely has some experience with a camera similar to the one he used in this video so there is some level of familiarity. Both did a great job!! I’m learning from all three of you in this video. I just saved up and bought a camera around $600, so it makes me feel better to know what is possible with a camera of that price range (with both practice & learning to edit of course). I plan to have clients within the next year. 🙏

I like the premise of this, pretty cool idea, but Josh seriously deserves more credit. His shots were creative and done really well, especially for only have 5 weeks of experience!! His progress is crazy in such a short period of time!

So cool to see the importance of understanding the gear you have and practicing with it to get the best look for your shots. Really helpful!
