...1440p or 1080p or whatever resolution doesnt tell you, how a sharp a picture on the monitor is. In fact, sharpness means pixels per inch. A 32" 1440p monitor has the same "sharpness" as a 24" 1080p. So you always need to compare the size of the panel too...

it would be better if you do a 27 vs 27 inch monitor

There's an idea I'd like to add. I bought my first 25 inch monitor almost two years ago. I was so excited. It was 1080p, and all sorts of stuff looked like fuzzy crap. Bumped it up to 2K and everything was sharp again. It's as simple as that.

This is the only video that I could find, that directly compares windows size. Upgrading from 768p, I really wanted to know how much increased workspace I could get. Now it seems like 1080p is still not large enough, everything looks way too big even in 24" monitor. Thanks a lot for this! Would be great if you can compare with 4k as well at 32" :).

The only thing I can say is that it deciding between the two is: How far away from the screen are you?
If you have a 27" 1440p Monitor, you will have 108 ppi (pixels per inch for the nubs that may read this) and a 21" 1080p display will give you 104 ppi. Both come in 144hz versions and are good for gaming. If you are closer to your display, go 1080p and save some money. If you don't have fantastic vision or you're gonna be a two or three more feet away from the display, go 1440p and give yourself the size boost. As long as you keep your display above 100ppi, it should look fantastic.
However, I can say that 2160p is, at this point, completely pointless unless you have two 1080Tis. 2160p is limited to 60hz currently and most cards struggle to accomplish Ultra Graphics or even High on some titles at 2160. 1440p is great for people with larger desks, but for people like myself, who only play about 2 feet from their display, 1440 is a pointless endeavor.

Upgrading from 1366*768 to 1440p. New monitor on the way. This’ll be awesome. (Never seen 1440p before)

1440p @ 27" against 1080p @ 24" is perfect as you wouldn't go any higher than 1080p @ 25" due to reduced pixels and actually being able to see the pixels, although I wish you had shown more examples of gameplay pixels between the two. Nevertheless, great comparison.

Man, that's the video I was searching for.
I'm going from 24' to 27' and almost nobody does this comparing.
Thanks a lot, the video gave me a lot of understanding of the situation that I'm going to face with.

The title should be 1440p, 27" vs 1080p, 24". Misleading.
