I'm old enough to have played games on a black and white CRT and if the game worked at all we were thrilled. The next step up was the game always worked and played it 10 frames per second. Then it was 30 frames per second at 240 p. That was amazing! So nowadays everything looks so amazing to me that it's all one half dozen or the other

You shouldn't only judge the monitor by specs
The panel is much more important
Also there are different things, that you should take into account
For example, response time, contrast ratio, dE, sRGB, dci p3 coverage, gray and black uniformity, color temperature

It's insane that back in 2020, the best gaming monitor was 4K at 144hz, and we didnt even have 1440p 240hz yet. We have come so far since then, we now have over 240hz 4K monitors, its crazy!

1080p 165hz, is my sweet spot. I'm not used to having bigger screens at all due to my apartment space

Since no link - YT channel is “Optimum Tech”

One thing to point out is if you use fsr it will scale down one tier, so 1440 to 1080 and 1080 to 720 keep that in mind

Imo 1080p 120 hz is the best thing to pair with good budget builds. I’m still rocking a 1080 165 hz which tbh I mostly console game now anyway so it doesn’t feel like it needs a upgrade.

Sony Bravia 42” 4K 120hz tv. Got one for $150 locally. Absolutely love it for games and such a large screen is perfect for multitasking

the reason i like your channel is you constantly credit people, so much people steal videos without even bothering thinking about crediting these days

Buy nice buy once. High refresh rates on a cheap panel might be helpful for fps games but simply buying a quality monitor in the first place lasts you a long time

I mean if u r casuall gamer and cant see diffrents between 144 and 240 or above which is highly possible i would just go with lower refreshrate panel and adjust latency timings with cru (costom resolution utility) because statisticly its way more likeley to feel 10ms lower latency then see above 144hz and that should give you a bit of compettitive advantage and it should be a bit easyer to become less casual because majority of gamers dont do that and it could help u microadjust faster. If you still have extra money i would rather invest into good gaming mouse like razer viper v3 pro rn and benefit even further. And sry for my eng its not my native language .. I hope it helps

1080p 180hz/fps is my monster and I find it to work well

Sometimes, a CRT can still hold up in 2023, the more high end ones can have pretty high refresh rates, and they also have infinite colors that can be displayed

honestly i dont mind 60hz at 1080p but if anything then framerate over the pixels on my screen

1440p does give an advantage over 1080p in some games like Hunt Showdown for example it can be harder to see enemies with the lower resolution especially in the woods.

I picked up a used Asus Tuf gaming VG27AQ1A for $100.
27”, 1440p, IPs, 170hz, 1ms… could not be happier. Super good price for a solid midrange option.
